Anyone happen to know what's involved with FIA certifying a seat? Do they simply look at design and materials, or do they actually crash-test seats?

Inquiring minds want to know!!!

Glad to see they apparently haven't updated their certification date. Means the nice Sparco I have is still SCCA, etc. legal with no back support and can therefore be on adjustable rails.

Which just happens to be FS.
