I'm in if you need me, I didn't realize we were that short on instructors. I figured my help wasn't even wanted considering that I'm really more novice school instructor than intermediate school material. I've got to come up later that day anyways to get the course ready for the next day, so I might as well just come up early.

Same thing for me. I just replaced my shocks so part of my day will be spent figuring them out.

From the entry list, it looks like we have 11 novice students, so we can use your talents there if you like!

I think everyone will get their wish. Looks like we'll have from 5-7 instuctors. I think we'll be fine. We'll focus on novice drivers and instructors and the intermediate drivers and can ask for help when they want it.

This will be a success despite my best efforts :D

BTW James, you going FS next year? I think the rest of us current FS'ers are going to stay put at least one more year.

I'm going FS next year. Going to get everything else I need over the winter and start off the `10 season there.

We can always use spare instructors. With that said, there won't be a shortage of them. It's a school, so there will only be one car on course at a time. Instructors may end up moving from car to car a bit, which is commonplace when we do these schools.

Regarding having someone in the car with you during each run of the school - it can be advantageous for an instructor to get out of the car and watch from outside. For instance, it can be difficult to know just how close a student car is to the cones from inside.

Anyway, students, start thinking about aspects of your autocrossing that you want to focus on if you haven't already done so. That will help your instructor help you more effectively.

The saturday event was inclusive for both testers and students. Info was on the web site. If you can do a little of both, we'd appreciate it if instructor Bernie could show up and help drivers that need help. We'll make sure you get some runs in....

If you help instruct, that would give us 6 instructors and I'm good w/ that total.

<- Confused, I see 5 instructors on the first page (me not included in that list) and you are saying that Bernie would make 6. Are you including me or not?

Back from Danville where you can be assured there is currently NO DROUGHT! It started out damp, but by the time we left it was raining pretty hard. It looked like everyone was happy enough with their number of runs, and they all now know what it’s like to run in the rain.
Sure hope it clears by tomorrow!

I've been checking all day, and weather.com still has 7am as 0% chance of rain. See y'all there!

Intermediate school trip report: It was cold and wet.

Oh yeah, and fun.

Thanks to Rodney for making it happen.

Especially in a convertible with the top down :P

I enjoyed instructing, hopefully my novices and past novices learned something. I know Jessie picked up a bunch of time w/o someone else in the car and learned how to drive backwards through the finish without hitting the timing equipment and still managed a good time. Great Job.
Becca picked up time and is much more assertive on the course and is picking up the art of shifting. MR2 is much faster than the pink beetle and sounds great but is a bit stinky

Next time we will order up sun.
