I think the rallycross folks should look into substitutes for cones as course markers. Here are a few suggestions:

a) cow pies (brownest car loses)

b) roadside flares (for that Mad-Max effect)

c) map "cone" locations as GPS locations, then navigate using your Garmin or Tom-Tom. This would be handy for night-time rallycrosses. :)
