Jason, if it were me, I'd probably set that car up for CS and be done with it. But I've become a huge advocate for stock class cars in the last three years, so I'm biased.

Pitting JUST the 99NB and the s2k against each other... both running the same sticky 255 wide tires. wouldent the extra power murder my car? I can cary the momentum though a little better, but the s2k makes just that much more power that it can make it up right?
also... 255's... 15x8's ... I really dont want to start rolling my fenders and fretting about cracked paint.
To your question about the S2000 "murdering" your 10AE? Not necessarily. Take a look at the existing ST class. The top dog is the 89-91 Civic Si. There are plenty of cars that look on paper like they could be faster, but most of them aren't. The reason, to a large degree, is weight. They're all running the same tire sizes, so why not choose the lightest car? There are other factors, but weight is a big one.
Some people think the MR2 Spyder will end up the top dog in STR. We just don't know the answer yet, and it'll take a few years to shake out.
As to the fender rolling thing...that's your decision to make. Sounds to me like you'll end up with a "mild" STR build, if that's what you decide to do. If someone shows up in an STR S2000 that's been built to the highest possible level, you won't be losing because the S2000 is a class overdog - you'll be losing because you've got a car that isn't prepared to the limit, and the other guy has one that is.
(I'm trying to limit this discussion to the cars. Let's leave driver skill and course design out of it for now.)
