Day 2, while fun, the course was 10 lbs of crap in a 5 lb bag. Certainly a good course for a car with short gearing and was reasonably small. After 2 brutal runs using 2nd gear and bogging a lot, which is hard with over 400 lb ft of torque, we tried running just 1st gear for the last 2 runs. I blew the finish slalom on run 3 and run 4 clipped a cone early, which cost me an additional .5 pickup. In first gear, we never hit the 54mph limiter either..

I think that was shown with the times that Jinx put down. In the S2000 I was in VTEC for all of about 4 seconds on that course in 2nd gear and with the small rear tires we run out of 2nd at 58 mph. So I was almost never in the real powerband of the car. I did enjoy the course on Sunday. The course Saturday was great but my car was miserable with corded tires in the rear. It was a fun weekend all in all and the karting on Saturday night was excellent.

My Hero camera sucks! I didn't get any video from Sunday. Someone, please post a Sunday run. I'd like to see the course again. Thanks.

Runs from both days here.

Those rear tires worked out then? Nice driving Gwen.

Maybe an ITR in DS.

Heat 1 had a ton of classes. The Tarheelers that I know ran there were myself in STS, Dustin in STU, maybe Lee in ST?

Somebody help me out here, who else ran?

I believe FSP, SS and STX as well.

Yeah, STU indeed ran 1st Saturday, which was a bummer because it was a bit slick. 34th Pax after day 1, after holding FTPax and even FTD through a decent portion of that session. Those times were blown out of the water by early 2nd session. I drove what I felt was about as well as I could given the conditions so couldn't complain.

Had an equally reasonable feeling runs on Sunday, and moved from 34th to 13th in Pax overall, if that's any indication. The Sunday course did feel pretty good in the BMW on fresh ST tires, though, so that could certainly have played into the results.

Thanks, and yes. "David Tires" rock!

Gwen, I also want to say that you drove great. I meant to include that in my original post, but forgot. Well done ;) - AB

Again, thanks. It was a fun weekend.
Also, thanks to Judie for carting me around everywhere so I could leave the Mini @ the site with the R comps on.

Great job to all that came out! Had a blast as always! Glad the weather cooperated for the most part. I wasn't looking forward to being cold and wet all weekend.

Carlton really picked up quickly how to drive that S2000. I'm sure he'll be scary fast after getting more points from the other S2000 drivers.

Sorry you didn't get that glass you deserved on Sunday Gwen! You did awesome as always!

Speaking of which, did anyone hang around for the trophies? I had to take off at the end of the 4th heat to pick up the dogs from daycare in Charlotte. - AB

Triad put on a great event, it was a good weekend. Just wish I could have stayed off the cones on my fastest runs Sunday. It wouldn't have made any difference in my class result, but I could have helped a little more in the club cup points if it was as close as they said it was. I'm really disappointed in our participation the past couple years, but don't know how to get more people interested in it, maybe next year when we are the hosts. Thanks to all those who made it out and ran for Tarheel.

Most of us stuck around. I'm pretty sure Spratte went up when they called your name and gave them your info for your custom t-shirt. They gave away a good bit of gift certificates from the sponsors.

I said "covered." Not sure if a Baby Doll T would cut it.
