Sweet. While I know everyone doesn't like the coliseum, I think it's a decent lot and a great location for the event. I can't wait. Hopefully a bunch of folks can make it out to represent our club.

It's just that the lot is kind of small and the grip isn't great. But air conditioned bathrooms with running water and soap make up for a lot of ills, IMHO.

rats, can't make this one, off to Vegas for some time out. The big plus is the Barrett-Jackson is there the same weekend. THAT should be fun...

You can run either day, but for championship points, you'll have to run both days. If they're doing it as in years past.

I'm registered. Just got to figure out what to do with the kids that weekend now. Maybe they can take a trip to Grandma and Grandpa's house for the weekend.

I'm not sure why people consider that lot small? (Donnie, not taking a shot at you, honest question.) The courses I have run there have typically been as long as or longer than most of the other NC venues, and the squarish shape of the lot and modest elevation changes allows for more features (real sweepers!) and line choice than the typical runway venue. I will give you that some courses there have not made the best use of the space by adding painfully tight elements, but IMHO that is a problem of course designer selection, not the space. I find the grip better than Sanford and possibly a little better than Danville, it does not pull up grit either. The proximity of the site is another + in my book. Biggest - is that the collesium has been charging the AXers a parking fee lately, it used to be if you arrived before 9AM the collection booth were not manned so there was not a fee. I never tried it, but I think you could also get a free return pass if you needed to leave during the event (gas, food, etc)as well. I might suggest that the powers that be try to negotate removing that fee for the AXers, after all it seems redundant to have to pay to park in the lot we are already paying to rent.
In any case I look forward to running there.

I guess it's my DL1 that's smoking the good stuff? the G forces recorded are as high or higher at GC as at Sanford and Danville for similar radius turns. I tend to believe it over my butt dyno tho.
Maybe it's just that yours is not calibrated for sweepers since all we run otherwise is "slalom, slalom, offset, offset, pivot turn, slalom, offset, slalom, tight offset, finish" (arranged in any order/quantity of your choosing)
We run a lot of other features at national events and outside the state venues, and find them much more challenging and interesting so I welcome the chance to run something other than an out and back all transitions course.

Dick Rasmussen said several years ago that Greenville had as high level of grip as Laurinburg in Miles' Corvette using data too. I don't buy it.

Well you can believe an instrument or your butt, that's your choice to make.
I find the instrument more accurate that's all.
It may also have to do with that the Miata is a transitioning fool and you have yours set up just to maximize that (I would too if that is all I ever ran) and it doesn't handle high G sweepers very well?
