All, with only a few days left until the 3rd event, we're still a little low on head count. If you can make it, please sign up, this is always a fun course even if it is a little small. Gwen and Walter make great use of the space.

We've checked and the on site bathrooms and the canteen will be open for business! Always great to have access to hot food and clean bath rooms. That said, please don't leave trash and stuff in the bath rooms. As well always say, we want to be able to use this site next year.

Go ahead and sign up if you haven't already. Not to jinx anything, but right now the weather looks good for this weekend.

See you there!!

I'm betting no. Spratte usually co-drives with Feinberg, so I'm expecting to see him in a 1968 Morgan.

So do all the parts that fall off of them.

This one's different; it requires regular visits from the Orkin man.

I understand Morgan drivers' hair can fall off, too. Looking forward to seeing Spratte's and Feinberg's new 'dos'. Hopefully, they'll make Mr. Sheally proud.

You'd need a pretty good carpenter to get that engine to work in a Morgan. I hope that the owner didn't get robbed.

Great course. I really did like it a lot.

This weekend was...interesting.

Saturday, while packing the trailer, one of the tie down straps I use to secure the wheels broke. Fortunately, I had three more.

Then I woke up this morning to a driver side door that wouldn't open. Somehow - by the work of elves, it would seem - the interior lock switch has come free of the mechanism. So the car now thinks it needs to be locked all of the time. Which is convenient.

First session mostly wet. Managed to spin about 20 feet into the course, so that was excellent. I didn't manage to hit anything though, so that's good. Second session, well...I'd rather just forget about that. It's not often I find myself embarrassed by my driving, but today was one of those times.

The real fun started after fun runs. I was nearly finished packing when it started to pour. Which is also the time that I noticed two more of the tie downs had failed on the trip to the site, leaving me with one good one. OK, I'll make it work somehow. Get about 3 miles from the site, in the pouring rain, and I see the tie down coming free from the trailer in the rear view mirror. So I pulled into the turn lane, with 55mph traffic on both sides to me, to find...another broken tie down! Eventually I managed to piece one together from two broken ones while Dustin and Malia watched on. Thanks to you guys who stopped to see if I was okay, I appreciate it a lot. When you all stopped, I really did think I was fine.

There's an old Soundgarden song where one of the lyrics is "shoulda stayed in bed." Somehow, that song is stuck in my head tonight...

Thanks to Maria and Mike for driving the bus to and from Greenville. Welcome to the wonderful world of bus transportation AND surviving a flat tire on the bus during the drive home. Also, special thanks to Cline Hall for seeing them on the side of the road, turning around and going back to help. And, he didn’t even attend the AX. Thanks.
