I wanted to thank everyone in charge for putting on a great event with an excellent course. I wish I could have stuck around afterwards but my friend Kyle, who was supposed to co-drive with me today pulled a muscle in his back this morning changing tires and he couldn't drive as it was spasming all day. So I wanted to get him to someplace where he could get some pain killers.

Thanks again for all the hard work!

This weekend was a great time. I just wish I could have brought my car today :( Got up this morning to discover the left front (street) tire on the S2000 flat as a pancake. At least it didn't do it on the road.

Thanks also to the several people who offered me co-drives today. I think I was wise to turn down those gracious offers - my upper back is in much better shape tonight than it was last night.

Congrats on a great finish Keith!!!

Congrats also need to go to Wes for another GREAT weekend. Your passion for this event is evident. I know you had help, but it would have never happened if it weren't for you. Nice job!!

Thank you to all the bus workers, you guys did another bang up job today.

Results have been sent but our webmasters were out of town this weekend so give them a day or two to get them posted.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped organize the event--it was a blast! The course was challenging yet fun to run, and flowed very well.

I think I am finally getting the hang of my new ride, but there's still plenty room for improvement for me, as my co-driver has demonstrated.

I was also very pleased to see a bunch of folks from the Triangle Miata Club show up. Nevermind that I don't have one anymore, there can never be enough Miatas at any autocross!

I'm tired.

Thanks to all the people who came out in the heat.

Special thanks to the registrars (Alex and Malia) for all the extra stuff they do for this particular event. We really couldn't do it without yall!

More thanks to Jeb for a co-drive on Sat. and the Fredrickson's on Sun.

The dead birds were great!

Did I say I was tired?

Scott

This was a great event and I loved the course. Thanks to Colin for letting me drive his Miata. Except for noise and spinning tires, a Miata is actually more fun than driving a Camaro!

We could always upgrade the speakers and get a loop of a Camaro exhaust at a dragstrip..... can't do much about spinning the tires, 100 HP doesn't go too far..

Great weekend! Thanks to everybody that made it possible. :D

Awesome event, and a classic example of a course not being hard to drive but hard to drive FAST!

Fun course, I've finally learned to just keep the gas pedal down and figure out how to get the car through the cones. Took it a little too far on my 3rd run, but that just means I'm trying hard right? Sorry if I scared anyone on that, I wasn't trying to ram the bus or anything, just trying to get it under control on the pavement rather than in the ditch (which is probably where I'd have ended up if I had tried to save it). The annoying thing is I still ran a 73 even with that incident, it must have been a stinking fast run up to that point (although I think it was +3 at that point also).

Thanks to all who helped make this thing happen, it was a blast. I even won something at the raffle for my first time ever.

Agree this was a great event and kudos to Wes for this annual fundraiser event! Thanks to all the sponsors and folks that helped to make this another success. As mentioned, thanks to Bowie and Marvin for cooking! Now, if we could just get you guys to attend every event!

As for FS, Holy cow, what a day. Who would have thought that these lowly mustang's would have placed in the top 10 PAX and raw. There is some SERIOUS competition in FS this year and it's great to be part of that. That said, this is a first for me in being in the top 10 in both columns. That's never happened to me before and I relish this moment even if I did come in second in class.

Fun event and a blast to run. Thanks again to everyone to make this another success!

EDIT:

Just looked at the results of the top 3 in FS and the spread is less than 1/10 of a second. Now THAT'S excitment!

I had TWO flat tires. Guess I should've checked them before the day of the autox. At least I didn't load up, go to Sanford & then find out when I put them on the car.

Thought about going and playing on all-seasons, but decided to do some stuff at home, instead.

Well it was THAT bad for me.

I'd like to hear how others on raw sheets did. Maybe I'm just not cut out for raw sheets.

Brice - how were you getting car numbers at the start line? Were you writing them down as the start worker called them in or catching them as the cars passed by? I had major problems with both, mainly because cars would often drive by at times when I couldn't look, and I couldn't hear/understand the starter when he called out car class/numbers.

From the shallow end of the driving talent pool, as an absolute first-timer in Autocross (second timer in anything motorsports related) I think the event was exceptional and very professionally managed! I enjoyed meeting some new folks, learning my car (the old slow grey BMW) as well as how to drive it a little faster each run (Crime Against Cones notwithstanding). The officers et al should feel justifiably proud of their efforts.

Looking forward to the Greenville event and meeting more of you!

Thanks again,
Steve

The V event it’s self was once again FANTASTIC. Wes, you and your team really get this done. Thanks to all of you. The courses Saturday and Sunday were bombastic! Keep doing courses like that and I’m going to start actually liking Sanford better.
Also, many thanks to all who offered things for the drawings.
And, finally, anyone who stays until trophies should know that we usually go to dinner after, before driving home. That’s fun too and all are welcome.
