Well, I'll start a "strategy" thread coming up here in a minute, but I wanted to thank Donnie for reminding me of something before doing that:

Karl, I'd also add this. You bought one of the easiest cars to jump in and go 90% and whip the shit out of "average guy at local event." That only works if you go 90%, though. Go much more than that, however, and that car isn't so easy to drive. And the problem is your measuring stick has been people who do have the ability to put that car near 100%. The depressing thing is the difference in time between 90% and 100% is still kind of large, too. So when you go 90% you can stay clean and get crushed by the co-driver, you go near 100% and you're whacking cones.
In 2007, I crewed for Team MER at the VIR 13-hour - heck, Donnie, I think you may have been one of the drivers. Jason Saini and I got to chatting during some of his downtime, and he said the same thing. In fact, he said winning BS/AS titles in his S2000 was possibly the hardest driving "task" he's ever done. I think "prepare yourself for some frustration" was in there somewhere as well.
This car has a tendency to make me a little overconfident, as well. It feels so good once you start to get it to really dance, that, for me, it's easy to get a little cocky. "I've got all the grip in the world, I can do this flat!" Very very seldom, this works out well. Most often, though, it doesn't.
I'm off to go looking for a data acquisition system...and to start a "strategy" thread.
