Adam, shoot me a pm before the first event and I'll help you out there with any questions you might have at the first event.

It's really easy to do a two-driver car even if it's your first event. Like everyone said, the toughest part is remembering to change your numbers after your wife drives and vice versa.

As far a magnets, I like to just make some cheesy laminated word-art numbers that I use painter's tape to stick on the doors.

Personally, I have to save my pennies for tires and future bmw gremlins, athough I'm doing a good job scaring them away thus far.

If you go this route, just make sure they are high contrast and easily readable. We have a webpage on the subject:
http://www.thscc.com/autocross/info/numspecs.html
Click the links on the page to print your own, and make the paper-number-restockerer happy :)

Maybe he's saving up for a new transmission.

 It wouldn't be GT-R thread without one of those comments...

by the way, 6 transmission failures out of 2400 sold to people with the average age of 26yrs old, who've never driven a 500hp AWD car before, isn't a bad ratio. (That's a 99.75% success rate, even after one of them is John, who had 633AWHP, ran 10.5sec 1/4, and launched over 200 times)

Matt - Thanks. I'll be sure to listen to suggestions. If this works out well, I'd like to get the wife to attend all of the events this year.

If that works out for you, I'll be asking you for advice. Advice on how to get my wife out to an autocross. She has a great/fun car for it.

I too cut numbers and graphics, magnetic (I use the strongest magnetic material available) or stick on. I can suggest color schemes that are visible and fonts that meet SCCA specs or do a custom design for you.

If you are talking to me, you can click on the PM or email link in my post to send me an inquiry. be sure to include your email addy and car color, numbers (I suggest getting several pairs of numbers so you have options should you find someone has already registered with your number or you run with another club sometime) and class(s) desired so I can send you a jpg of my offerings.
By the way, my wife and I have been AXing together all the way up to the National Championships since 2000. Each club handles two drivers a little differently, but it's pretty painless. I think THSCC has the best system of all. Donna would be glad to help your wife with instruction or any questions/concerns.
