I'd suspect the sensor has a slow respose time to keep it from coming on when you park in a cool spot the go drive it on the expressway, or blink on and off when at the threshhold. GM gas gauges are that way, park it on a hill for a while then drive away on a level road and the vehicle will sometimes "make" gas for the first 5 minutes or so (as much as 1/8 of a tank on the Solstice. I asked the GM engineers about this phenomenon and was told it was the alogarithm used and the sensor response delay, and to just ignore it for the first 5 minutes or so.

Someone's gonna think of something funny to say about that.

Have you considered mounting all 4 sensors inside your NOS tank?

That is not true. 18x8.5s were offered on any regular deluxe or premium GT.

There are different bump stops on the steering rack that was offered with different wheel packages however. I would assume to be completely legal you would have to change to those.

Hmm... is deluxe and premium an '09 thing, because that was all the talk back when the Shelby GT/California package came out was that a option package was needed to do the conversions for the better wheels (in the case of California package) and the better springs/swaybar in the Shelby GT.

Rodney would need to figure out what was offered in his model year, and the Shelby GT/California package was not around until '07. - AB

Edit: Rodney, you have an '07, so you could do the conversion depending on what came with the wheels, like Michael stated.

Update - After some more reading it seems that in late 06 18's were offered. So, I think it is legal to use 17s or 18s if you have a 07, 08, or maybe a late 06 model.

Also, for Rodney and Art... I got my 18s in yesterday and they are ~24.5lbs. Not light, but better than the 28.5lb+ that ford stated.

Mike Dishman called yesterday with a reminder that he and his CTS-V will own FS in the March 29th autocross. However, he applauds Rodney, Michael & Stephen for supporting our ailing economy.

Does Dishman have a 1st or 2nd gen CTS-V? If he has a 1st gen, then I fart in his general direction.... If he has a 2nd gen, well, he may have something there.

On an autocross course, the difference between a 1st Gen CTS-V and a 2nd gen are minimal, especially when you factor in that the 1st gen likely has the 2nd gen differential (which was much better) due to warranty replacement. - AB

Bring it!

I was worried Stephen and I would be bored in FS, but it's looking to be a pretty good gathering this year.

That's what I said about STT a couple of years ago too. Everybody bailed before the 4th event.

You're making a big mistake dissing Dishman. After all, he'll tell you that he once beat GH Sharp, in ESP, in an NCAC event, at Laurinburg, driving a K-car.

We did name the "THSCC fast guy of the year" award after him.
