For those that decided your autocross season was done before today, you missed a good one! The weather was great, if not a bit cool, and the course was excellent!

I'd like to thank everybody who came out... it seemed touch and go for a while for whether we'd even have the participation necessary to hold the event, but were pleasently surprised with 72+ people on the roster today.

Big thanks to Rob Lupella and Bernie Baake, our event chairs, as well as Gwen Baake and Gary Hill for setup help. We've had a bunch of great courses this year, and this one was right up there. Thanks for putting this one together Rob, Bernie, Gwen, and Gary, I had a blast this weekend!

Oh, and a final, end-of-year THANKS once again to all of you who step up to do a little more than you have to, whether it's holding an officer or staff position, helping with setup, driving the bus, helping pack up the bus, or 100 other behinds the scenes tasks - it's YOUR efforts that keep this club running - THANK YOU!

Until next year......

mr. gravely missed out on a fun six-run event...just skip stadium clean-up next time

who ended up winning in tir class? i know mr. fredrickson here was very quick even on street tires, and i couldn't go any faster in the afternoon than my 50.3xx 3rd run.

I had a great time. Thanks everybody.

I found the surface at Danville strange today. I swear, I think I've come to like Sanford a little better. Sanford at least seems more consistent to me. It's not that my car felt bad today, it just felt, to me, like the grip was "on again, off again" today. I'm sure at least part of that was down to the temperature changes - 3rd heat had the stock classes running during a bit of a cold snap.

It took Chris approximately one run to get familiar enough with the S2000 enough to drive it very, very quickly. After her second run, there was a group of people surrounding the car, asking her if "that was really a 46," and if she'd "missed some part of the course."

Me, well...I tried to bring the guy who drove my car at Sanford, but I couldn't find him. So, I had to stand in. More of the usual then - fine raw times, plus about eleventy million cones. On number five, I actually parked the car to prevent myself from going off in the very section I was nailing pretty much all day. Not exactly how I was hoping to close the season.

+1 on the changing surface... no grip in the first section, entering into the main runway it became grippy, then before that turnaround it got rough. makes it hard to judge what the car is going to do at a certain point in the course.

Very fun course, I enjoyed it a lot. Thankfully, I did NOT take out the timing equipment on my 6th run. . .

I still feel like I could have gotten the car down into the 49's, but there wasn't a whole lot left to be gained out there for me I didn't think.

Now for the long off season :(

We've still got 1 more rallycross if you're not quite ready to quit yet... ;-)

Great event! Thanks to everyone who organized and ran it--I had a blast!

A nice swan song for my little CSP Miata. As usual, I gotta work on the "drive it like you stole it" part though ;)

The really cool part for me today was trying out some really fun cars: Thanks to Maureen and Charlie, Chuck, and Karl for letting me do that!

I've been saying all year that the only thing holding Chris back was that busted old Subaru. :P

I had a ball yesterday. It was a great way to end the season! It was fun working with Rob, Bernie, Gary, and Dustin setting up the course on Saturday. A low key event like this one is a great way to get your feet wet in a variety of areas. I helped Bernie a little with tech-so I got a better feel of how that goes. I also finally took a whack at the computer with T&S. Thanks, Les. I did raw sheets at NCAC so that helped give me a feel for things too. Next year I guess I’ll venture into the bus for more than announcing.

First time out for my new Mini, and a venture into HS. I think I’m really going to like the new car. :D Thanks to everyone for all the kind words about my new baby. Car guys are the best. And, to think, 5 years ago I wondered what I could ever have in common with folks who hung around talking about cars all day! Who knew? :whoknows:

Again, let me say, what a great group of folks to spend time with. I had a great year. Looking forward to the Christmas Party.

I hate that I missed my annual Bum-A-Different-Car-For-Every-Run event.

Sounds like you all had a great time.

Any chance of getting the times posted for this event? Just wondering how I stacked up against others in my new ride.
