I hope we can do more local events for the practice, which ones is somewhat dependent on where the Championships will be held (surface). I hope it is on asphalt no matter where it is, practicing on concrete is hard on the tire budget and finding events being held on decent concrete is even harder.
It's looking really good for concrete, particularly the concrete in Lincoln, NE. There will be several events there next year, too.
That site adds a couple hours for us east-coasters, but is mammoth. Probably big enough for three full sized courses (full sized as in from the Forbes days) at the same time, which would mean the Pro can go back to Sat-Sun, most likely. Downsides are COMPLETE lack of facilities at the site as well as no overnight camping (damned active airport business again). But the town is much bigger than Blytheville, and they know that Nebraska football won't interfere for at least the next two years. Likely date would be Labor Day week.
There would be room for paddock on the concrete, and there appears to be a suitable site for a "solo city" again, though not quite as near the gate as in the Forbes days. (Grass, big, within 3-4 blocks of the gate.)
This isn't 100%, but getting warmer. Look for an announcement for sure within the next couple weeks. Blytheville is supposedly still in play, as is Topeka (though Topeka is ONLY in play for a possible single additional year).
You didn't hear it from me.
