or more correctly this time ... at Du Tire Factory.
For those who decided to stay home this weekend and watch people driving away from NO on TV you missed a pretty good event.
Continental Tire lot is a bit tight, but after some last minute tweaking a challenging 26-30 sec course was laid out. 120+ drivers ran 2907 (!!!

) timed runs between noon Sat and 11:45 AM on Sun. The pace was never a problem with waits of ~ 15 minutes between runs at the busiest portion to < 5 min thru most of the night and Sun AM. Donna and I made about 25 runs each (some did > 60 runs!) and still got 6 total hrs of nap time and took about 1 1/2 hrs for a sit down supper with friends. We burned thru 6 gallons of gas, but still didn't cord our oldest set of Hoosiers that already had > 90 runs on them. We got in a good amount of setup testing and even some high quality instruction. That's more seat time than you get at an Evo school.
The competition level was high for a local event as many were using the seat time to tune up for nationals, came in from as far away as FL. In AS cars alone we had people like Rob Faulkner, Greg Hahn (the younger and elder), Jay MR, Jon Krolowitz and a few others setting a blistering fast benchmark.
