Gang -

Over on roadraceautox.com, it's come to my attention that SCR-SCCA and CCR-SCCA are hosting an autocross. At a very nice site. The Michelin Proving Grounds.

SCR-SCCA forum announcement

Event Supps

Anyone else going?

That's because track boys need repetition - they need to know that when they get somewhere it will look the same as it did last month and the month before and the month before. If all of a sudden VIR changed its layout, it would freak them out and you would have a bunch of cars just doing parade laps.

Having changing circuits just gives you an excuse why you lost

Or crashing. There'd probably be a lot of crashing.

IMHO That has to be the second best AX site in the country after ACU4 in Norfolk. They don't call it the black lake for nothing, it's larger than the pad at HPT where they hold the SCCA championships. Biggest issue is hotel rooms and places to eat, Laurens is just a whistlestop. There is a much better selection south of the site around Greenwood.
