No i dont think it is good to do it at all. There are lots of us that do it when we can because of work and other obligations. Hell we could have just had a bad day. Pointing fingers at the slow guys is not nice. I know i am slow but oh well i have fun. Isnt that what it is all about. In the people that are at the bottom now that might be one of our next newest biggest members!!!

sorry for the rant I am done

Wait a minute. How come Whitney didn't get blasted for doing the **exact same thing** two or three weeks ago?

people who drive Japanese cars suck worse, and are more easily offended, than people who drive European cars?

Thanks for the ego boost Matt, but unless I can codrive with someone, I will probably be driving the Mustang.

because it was that event that made a few folks a little uneasy. I am not saying that the fastest is not a great idea, it makes for good competition but we should not point out the slowest.

Hi all -

Just my own personal opinion, but I think "highlighting" the bottom 10 is discouraging and not necessary - I think Tarheel does an amazing job welcoming, encouraging and supporting novices - and if there are folks at the bottom 10, we should be offering to help them drive faster by mentoring, not singling them out.

When I started racing, I was very nervous, had a very ill prepared car and honestly, I think I would have been really embarrased had I received one of those awards. (and we always stayed for the awards so I would have been there to receive it).

Now while I agree with Brice, that making fun of people can be fun, I think this would be one area to avoid.

And like Bernie, this has come to me upon reflection because I didn't think too much about it at Sanford - but now it seems obvious that we shouldn't do that.

Just my two cents -

Mo

Here's how the conversation went with Rodney and me:

"Let's give posters to the top ten!"
"Yeah, but those people have egos that are too swelled already. It would be nice to give something to other people too."
"OK, let's give stuff to the bottom ten too!"
"Great idea!"

Now I don't know how it all played out at trophies since I had to leave for an emergency, but I guess it wasn't such a great idea after all. Those of you in the bottom 10 from our event, feel free to throw your posters in the trash.

Upon further review, it looks like Keith Vail wins the prediction competition and will receive a box of rice of my choosing next weekend at the Divisional in Danville, if I remember. The worst selections came from Matt McGrain. We'll think of something to "honor" him as well. Not including me anywhere in his predictions has me leaning towards a hit with my Nerf Crotchbat. :P

I can't stop laughing.

Thank you to everyone that made this autocross event happen. My significant improvement in times and overall consistency indicates that the intermediate school was a success.

I noticed the improvement, keep it up Michael.

LOL!

Yeah, me too. Although, Saturday night at BW3 was a riot, and I'd do it again right now.

Since we eighty-sixed the finishing order rewards thing, here's the answer to this month's trivia question. "Competition of Sorts" came from "Carnival of Sorts," a song by REM that appears on "Dead Letter Office."
