I voted for whatever, since I've been to Laurens and it was great. But I'd really prefer that the NCAC event be in NC, preferably within a couple of hours from home.

Maybe we should change the abbreviation to CAC? :?

I would come out of unintentional auto-x retirement to run another event at the Michelin lot.

The divisional we held there was an adapted Karen Babb nationals course and was just amazing. I set up the course for a Subaru Challenge there about 6 months later and had a hard time making the course big enough - it's hard to scale up to a site that large. I also went to a BMWCCA event there that used the course design that the BMW school ran. It was fun but only used about 1/2 of the lot.

Other than trying harder than normal to pick up every piece of trash we got no grief from the management about making a mess or tearing up the surface. It was a management change, not any bad interactions, that killed the site for non-Michelin folks since then.

I'd race a bicycle if I had to to run at Laurens! That has got to be the most awesome site I have ever raced at. Easily big enough to hold two nationals size courses. Biggest problem is the lack of paved paddock space should it be wet (they got unhappy about dragging mud onto the road course) and shortage of hotels in the area.

It's still probably not as far as the Highlands folks had to drive last year.

Is it going to be a two day event?

Yep, would still be a 2-day.

Not only would I likely not go to SC for an NCAC again, I really don't think it would end up very highly attended even if it were at the black lake. *shrug* I understand it's a great site, but it just doesn't seem like the NCAC types care to travel that far. And I don't blame them.

Probably too far for me.

Collaborating with the other clubs to have an event in Laurens is a good idea, I just don't know if I'd do it for the NCAC.

I don't care. What's another $100.00 tank of gas to go a little farther? Wait, gas will be at least $5.00 a gallon by then. Make that $125.00.

Heck, If I fill up in Apex, I'll have just the right amount of gas left in the tank to run for 2 days. 8)

Did you guys know that the BP stations in Greenville will only let you get $100.00 worth of gas on the BP card? I filled my new truck up before I left for OCS last weekend. I had to fill up Monday and it cut off at $100.00. My Camaro gets better gas mileage than my truck does, even when I'm not pulling a trailer.
