What do I need to actually have displayed on my car?
You have to have all of the normal ProSolo stickers and the "The Tirerack" window banner. All of those items will be available at Tech. You also have to have class letters and numbers that meet the standard set in the SCCA rule book. You, however, are not required to display your qualifying class.

Does anyone know if magnets are available vs stickers? If not, are the stickers hard to remove? I don't want to put stickers on my car. thanks.

Trick I learned: Stick the stickers to your pants or shirt first then tear off and apply to car. This picks up a bunch of lint and keeps it from sticking too well to the car. Or just bring some magnetic sheet and scissors with you to the event.

You do have to run the appropriate stickers but, as Mike said, there are ways to avoid putting them directly on your car. You can get blank magnetic sheets at most hobby/craft stores (such as Michaels) that will work fine. You'll need to spend some time Friday evening making your magnets when you get down there but it isn't a big deal.

The only thing you can't really get around is putting the vinyl Tire Rack banner on your windshield. That shouldn't be big deal since it comes off fairly easily and it is easy to clean any residue.

If you need any help with anything down there, feel free to ask. There will be a handful of Tarheel folk wandering around the place so you should see some familiar faces.

Thanks Jim. I do have a question. I may not be able to get down there until late Friday night. That means missing the driver's meeting at 8pm. Is it mandatory that I am there on Friday? If I check in Saturday morning, is that okay?

You can check in Saturday morning but it will be a bit of a whirlwind getting tech'd and everything. I can grab all the tech stickers for you on Friday and help you make your magnets if you want. That will save a bunch of time in the morning when you really need to be focusing on course walks and such.

What time are you planning on getting into Atlanta Friday evening and do you know where you are staying yet? I need to ask David Spratte where we'll be staying but I imagine it can't be very far away if it isn't the same place.

Website if you haven't already seen it.

Thanks Jim. I like the idea of the sticker on magnet approach and I appreciate your offer to help. That's much appreciated and I'll take you up on that offer to pick up the stickers for me on Friday. My guess is that we will get there around 10pm. We haven't decided on which hotel we will be staying. Maybe its best we talk on the phone to arrange logistics.

National event lesson #1: Book a hotel room IMMEDIATELY after registering for an event or even before! When 200+ mostly out of town AXers swarm into an event area the cheaper/closer/cleaner/ safer (choose any or all of the above...) room go VERY quickly. After that it's playing Russian roulette banking on a last minute cancellation or a possible L O N G drive to the event site each AM. If you think THSCC events start early...
Hint #2: if arriving late on Fri, be sure you still go to the site when you get in, you DEFINITELY don't want to be hunting for it Sat AM Even once you get to AMS you can spend 15 minutes finding the right parking lot. I assume you are bringing your tires in a support vehicle, and leaving the Soli on site? If so, also change your tires and empty your car Fri eve when you get in. As Jim says registering and teching on Sat AM will be like a Chinese fire drill especially since it is your first event, anything you can do on Friday will be something else you won't have to do then.
Time how long it takes to get from the site to your hotel. In the AM do whatever it takes to be at the site 15 min before dawn (check the sunrise time on the weather site) to give yourself any and all possible time to get ready.
