That's MSYY - Mad Skillz Yellow Yo !

You'd think someone who spend that much time waxing and polishing would know that things.

Seriously isn't that FLB (Flaminco Black Pearl), PY (Phoenix Yellow), and of course CW (Championship White)... Not that I'm a type R geek.

Oh by the way. Great event !!! Indoor plumbing rocks!!

Funniest one liner of the weekend: Randy Melton announcing when someone did a 360 in the final slalom,

“Hey, why’d you stop there? The finish line is right in front of you!”

Hope whoever requested Randy got his money's worth. I sure did! Great to see Diane too.

Awesome event and sweet course. I like Greenville due to it's technical nature and the fact that you can see the whole course when you're not driving. I really think that seeing the cars on course makes the time fly by- especially when we get East Carolina's best version of mad drifting JDM Style...

Keith & Chuck:

You guys drove awesome! I couldn't even keep up with or without cones.

Thanks, Matt.

Couldn't keep up, huh? Check the results - you were within 1/2 second and one cone of beating both of us - that's some tight competition! If the first two events are any indication, it's going to be a fun season in DS.

Yeah, we're not falling for the trap Matt (suck 'em in with nice talk then beat them down). It's going to be a great year in DS, and we'll all be better drivers at the end of the year. I'm hoping to work on consistency as one of my main goals as I have been pretty erratic at times driving the 330.

Keith made the comment about how good it felt to be back in a BMW this year -- heck, it looks like he was born in the ZHP! Good job Keith...guess those A6s had some life left in them after all. :o We were 27/1000ths apart after our 3rd runs! I only found another 0.2 on the final run, but you eeked out a bit over 0.5 sec -- any idea where you gained on the 4th run? I gained some by keeping it really tight in the sweeper and not over-driving the front tires. Also, I tried to really hug the turn-around cone as tight as possible while not over-driving the front tires at all. I kept hearing Junior in my head, "tight is right, tight is right". :)

It was a great event this weekend. It was deffinately nice to actually have the day off of work this time. I think I need some expert instruction from Gwen because Lauren is very close to beating me already!

Took me a while to find out what ITR stood for, but now I got mad ITR acronym skills too !

FYI - FBP has gold metallic flakes / NBP has blue metallic flakes... But I heard somewhere that if it isn't yellow, then it's crap :D

Thanks, Chuck. Yep, the A6's seem to be holding up fine after these first two events - thanks for hooking me up. BTW, I picked up a set of A4's today for a mega-bargain price, so I'll have something to mount up when those A6's (or the A5 I'm running with them) cord. The A4's are likely to turn out to be 4 year old bricks, but for what I paid for them I figure they're worth a try.

I think most of that 0.5 seconds was picked up in the sweeper - the first time through on my 3rd lap I carried a little too much speed and ended up way too wide on exit - it was a big enough mistake that I remember it clearly, along with hitting a cone on my 2nd lap. Like you mentioned, I also paid close attention to keeping the pivot / turnaround really tight - felt like I could reach through my passenger side window and grab that tall cone.

Looking forward to the Danville event. :D

You'll have to show me the trick to keeping those things happy. David and I managed to totally destroy our brand new front pair out in Arkansas this past weekend. I'm pretty sure we managed to get a defective pair since the one that looked the worse was actually on the side that should have taken the least abuse. I have an email into Hoosier and I'm hoping they will replace them.

The left front was showing cord nearly all the way around about 3-4 inches wide and about an inch from the inside. The edges were fine as were the (different size) rears so it sure seems like something funky was going on with just that pair. I'm pretty sure it was cording during David's morning runs on Sunday and by the time I ran, they were completely toast. I knew something was off during my runs but I couldn't tell what it was. The other ITR at the event was running the same sizes we were with nearly identical pressures and didn't have any issues. They even spun their car several times which was certainly more abuse than what our tires took. Oh well...

Can I play in DS this year? You guys are making me feel like I'm missing all the fun! :D

Jim - Last year, Chuck had major problems with front A6 outside edges cording on his 330 and subsequently abandoned A6s entirely (the reason I ended up with the 3 I've been running this season on my 330). What you're describing is completely different, sure sounds like defective tires.

Heck yeah, come on down and show us how it's done!

Yea, I think a lot of camber-challenged cars were having those issues with the A6's last year including the Crossfire contingent. I haven't heard of anybody having the problems we saw so I'm really hoping a new pair will last more than ~12 runs. They sure did feel good while they weren't showing cords, however.

I don't know about showing anybody anything but it sure would be fun to try. You guys have definitely been keeping the DS cars at the pointy end of the PAX stick so far this year, that's for sure.

Jim

Chris, I hate to tell you, but you looked like a wannabe out there in the corolla, too. The timer was just messed up when you finished.
