The Tarheel Sportscar Club will be having our Fourth Annual Charity Autocross benefiting the V Foundation for Cancer Research on May 31 - June 1 in Sanford, NC. Last year through sponsorship, donations and a raffle we raised over $6500 for the charity. In the past three years, we have raised over $10,000 for the V Foundation.

The V Foundation use 100% of such donations for cancer research -- they don't take any administrative costs out of these donations which is truly impressive.

We are looking for event sponsors that will help us reach our goal of $10,000 for this event. This is a different sort of sponsorship as well -- we are simply looking to recognize personal and corporate donations directly to the V Foundation.

If you can help out in any way, we would really appreciate it. A minimum $150 donation to the V Foundation gets you a small screenprinted logo on the event t-shirt and multiple mentions throughout the event.

We are also soliciting primary sponsors for the event which begin at the $1000 mark. This includes a larger logo on the event t-shirt, the event banner and mention in all media communications.

If you are interested in any form of sponsorship, including in-kind donations to raffle during the event, please contact us at dontgiveup@thscc.com or Wes Eargle at 919.454.8772.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration,

Wes

Kudos to Gwen and Bernie for matching funds that are raised through their business Pets Companion Inn and their Twilight Racing website.

Also, thanks to Lynn Gardiner Real Estate for being an event sponsor, thanks Poem!

Exceptional IT Services has stepped up for their second consecutive year of support as well.

We've gotten some fantastic donations for the raffle as well, including generous contributions from (to date):

- Auto Pro-To-Call (based in Chapel Hill)
- Koni North America
- THSCC/TZC (hint: it rhymes with "free track event")
- THSCC autocross program (hint: it rhymes with "free season pass")

Thanks to everyone that has helped us raise money to date, and if you know of any other businesses that need approaching or assistance getting your company to match funds, please contact us at dontgiveup@thscc.com .

Wes

Tarheel Motorsports is a primary sponsor of the event and

Apex Custom Carpets (Steve Remchak) is also an event sponsor!

Discount Tire is back on board. Same raffle prizes as last year and a $1000 check. Let's make this year's raffle the best! Remember, there will be a $500 gift certificate for tires and a $500 gift certificate for wheels.

Gwen and Bernie have let me know that Pet's Companion Inn is donating a certificate good for 3 night's stay for 1 dog in our Racing Garage Studio (a $114 value). They have also become primary sponsors of the event. Thanks a lot, guys!

Absolutely, I just received email confirmation from the VP of the Carolinas region. This ought to be a record breaker!

Thanks to Michael Westerfield, Eaton has stepped up to be a sponsor of the event! Also, Colin O'Connell has graciously offered some PIMP goods for the raffle. Way to go guys!

Wish we had some Superchargers for the raffle, but I don't work for the automotive division. :(

Just got off of the phone with the sales manager at Lotus of Durham and they're in for sponsorship too! David Spratte is finalizing artwork for the event t-shirt this weekend, so if anybody is on the fence about having their small (or large) business sponsor the event with a tax deductible contribution directly to the V Foundation, we'd appreciate it!

More good news: Sanford is comping us one day's site rental for this event. For those of us in the know, this is a significant donation. :D

Well this one is most certainly going to break the record.

I can only imagine the amount of work you guys put into this event. Actually - no, I probably can't imagine it.

Wes, I may have missed this somewhere, but if someone were to make a donation contributed towards this event, who would the check be made out to?

Just kicking some ideas around in my head (of course only 4 days away from the event) and figured I would see if some of it pans out. If it does, I would rather have the info before than after.

Thanks!

I'm not Wes, but...

I had anyone who wanted to donate through us to make their ck out to "V Foundation". I told them it wouldn't clear until after next weekend. (When Wes actually turns the funds over to the foundation.) That way they also have a record-if the need it-with the V Foundation deposit stamp on the back of the check.
