Does anyone have a Pyrotect helmet I could try one? Something along the lines of a medium size? Or alternatively does anyone know of a nearby place I could try one on?

Along the same lines if you have any suggestions of other helmets in a similar price range do let me know. I cannot afford to spend more than the $250 or so that the Pyrotect Full Face SA2005 is running for.

I just bought a Zamp FSA-1 and really like it. It's SA2005 full face and I got it for $179 shipped with bag from www.apexperformance.net

It's one of the most comfortable helmets I've worn too. I had a Simpson before this, sized at a 7 1/4" and the Zamp is L and fits well, so you can use that as a comparison.

Unless you live in Charlotte like I do, it's hard to find places that actually have helmets in stock to try on. I know VIR has some, but I'm unsure of the brand. - AB

I have a Pyrotect open face SA helmet you could try on. I think it is a Large though.

where are you located?

Well I was going to say "look at the location under my screen name" but apparently I'm still In a margaritta with a hammock!!!!.

I am in Raliegh. I work at RDU (though I'm going to be off for the next 5 days) and live off of Poole Road.
