There has been an unfortunate lapse in consistent numbering over the past several years, and this has let to a lot of frustration in the bus with Timing and Scoring.
This year, we will be enforcing the numbering system that may be found here:
http://www.thscc.com/autocross/info/numspecs.htmlIf you are in grid and have paper numbers that are falling off, it is your responsibility, not the grid worker or starter to remedy this. You will not be allowed to run until your numbers are fixed.
Similarly, if you run numbers that do not contrast with your car, are not big enough to be read at 50 feet, or are not single color, we will ask you to fix this before you are allowed to run. This means no camouflage numbers or other clever patterns. This also means no blue painters tape on a black car.
The paper numbers are provided at the bus as a convenience for those that have forgotten them or finds someone else using their number in class. Please do not abuse this as magnetic numbers are not prohibitively expensive.
