Smart money is on Feinberg. ;)

The real question is why is both STS and STS2 stomping DS. *cough*

Part of me wishes I was there even though the weather is crap and with only 1.5 seconds covering the 9 drivers in D stock that is a pretty good fight. I want to see Aaron take it to those Hype R's. :) I still wonder what the weather conditions were like all day today.

I like where Aaron and Bryan are sitting considering they are on completely new valving for the shocks that they had never tested before this event and Jim is showing well for a car that he has almost no seat time in as well. This year is going to be fun in DS.

Wish we could have been there... for several reasons: primarily health related since I just was released from Duke yesterday afternoon after spending an unexpected 6 days there again, and Donna is down with a heavy case of the flu as well. We were looking forwards to getting back behind the wheel.
The weather report I saw for Valdosta looked pretty good, mid 70's with cloudy on Sat, sunny on Sun. Don't expect there was a lot of difference in conditions between 3rd and 4th heats with cooling by 5th. The pavement and space constraints there seems to favor the street type compounds and setups IMHO, runway type courses with mostly transitions last year. :whoknows:

THSCC definitely made DS interesting. I, for one, am just glad that Spratte is allowed to wear pants at events in the future.

Do I win a prize?

Rod apparently had cone trouble yesterday, but set fastest ASP time today at least. In a strange twist, Lehman wins SM2. Wow. That's just, err, wrong.

Awesome job by Feinberg...congrats, Jim...can't wait to spend the whole year duking it out with Jim, Aaron, and David.

My car was fast, but it had a strong attraction to cones...looks like Aaron and I managed a total of 13 cones in 12 runs!

Bright side for me is that my car had the top raw time each day...me on Saturday (with a slalom cone that didn't really help me go faster) and Aaron on Sunday (with a very similar cone that he didn't even realize he hit.) So the car has the capability (the "new" shocks are awesome)...the drivers just need to clean their #$%^ up.

Jim's doing a bunch of DL1 work too...I'll be curious to see what he figures out about my last run...felt to me like it was fast enough to win until I totally hosed the finish turn.

Thanks guys!

I must say that I'm pretty stunned that I didn't hit a single cone all weekend. I was fairly certain I would "cone out" at least one of the two days considering that I was knocking stuff down left and right during my only other time running the car.

It was loads of fun hanging out with Bryan, Aaron and David all weekend and I don't think I've laughed that much in quite a while. I'm looking forward to a challenging season and I'm sure the battle will go back and forth and right down to the wire.

I haven't had a chance to look at any of the data yet from Sunday but there were some very interesting things that we noticed from a brief look at Saturday's runs. It's amazing how much grip the Crossfire generates and Aaron and Bryan flat-out owned David and I in the braking zones. They couldn't quite keep up with the mighty VTaK under acceleration but some of that was the course layout versus available gearing. Fun stuff to be sure...

I was funny occasionally off the course too! And Aaron really needs to sign up to announce at an event sometime.

The tiniest spot of light showed up for me on my last two runs on Sunday about how to drive the Arrr. I think there might be hope. This season's going to be a blast with these three guys in class and at some local events too.

Maybe an ITR in DS.

Yeah, Jim had some great driving going on there, especially on Day 2. I was honestly shocked when I was told I coned on my Sunday 2nd run, but apparently my rear wheel wobbled one in the slalom. The car is improved and very competitive even on an old set of tires. I was happy that the only runs in DS in the 46.xxx range were my 1st run on Saturday, Bryan's 2nd run on Saturday and my 2nd run on Sunday, so at least the fast one's were in the right car ;) Cones count, so I really can't complain :)

Spratte finally nutted up and drove it like he knows how on Sunday. Nice job. I think running with Jim and David is going to make us all better come Nationals... and a hell of a lot more fun. :D - AB

Nothing terribly exciting but here is a video from my 2nd run on Sunday at the Tour if anybody is interested.

I definitely need to work on slaloms in the new car as well as slowing down too much for a couple of sections but everything else is pretty decent. It's a bit of an adjustment driving a car with functioning brakes at all four corners.
