Mike Dishman and I did an event in 2000 where we ordered magnetic dash plaques. I think the cost was about the same as the regular dash plaques. My thoughts were similar to Vincents' that people could put them on their cars- or at least those with metal cars. If nothing else, they could be lined up on your fridge or filing cabinet at work.

I tried to encourage us to get magnetic dash plaques for every event that year, but nobody else every took the suggestion.

I wouldn't mind getting a magnetic trophy the size of a dash plaque for an award. I also like the year long trophy boards and think we should bring those back if you want to cut down on wood.

Just FYI:
If you want to make your dash plaques magnetic, the office supply stores sell packages of sticky back thin magnetic sheet in business card size that will work on the inside of the car/refrigerator. You'd need the thicker mag sheet to be strong enough to stay on the outside tho.

I like the idea of just getting a little cone magnet/sticker to put on the side of the car. Maybe include your finishing spot and the class if there's room.

Looks like it's a statistical dead heat. So, maybe the officers have a plan.

Maybe we award 3 punches for 1st, two for 2nd, 1 for third, in place of a wood trophy.

Calculate a $ value for each punch, then make them redeemable for a free autocross or maybe save them up for THSCC merchandise. Kinda like "Stay 5 nights, get the 6th night free" that hotels offer frequent guests.

Of course, on second thought, this won't work for classes with low entries. Alas, maybe it was all for naught. Sounded good going in, but... maybe too many exceptions needed.
