It's been 35 years since I have done any auto X, and all these classes have me a bit confused. I hope to make all of the meets in 2008, starting with the auto X school in march. I hope to run as a novice in the next day event. I'm not sure if I will be in STU, or Street Prepared E. My toy is a 2007 Subaru Forester XT. It has been lowered by using Swift springs. It also is running heavy anti roll bars and strut braces. The engine will have a larger turbo, TMIC, modified intake and engine management. It is rolling on BFG 225/50ZR17s. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a bad ass car. The big turbo and intercooler will put you in SM.

Is your FXT white?

The car is World Rally Blue. Once I get it washed I'll put a pic up for my avatar.

Keep in mind that your paint color doesn't affect your class  .

Have you made any changes in the interior (removal of sound deadening, race seats, carpet removal etc.)? You sound like you're on the cusp of SM and Mod/Prepared.

Are you thinking of Ryan Davis' FXT?

I haven't made any interior changes,...Yet, but I do plan on putting in a roll bar so I can run with the ECTA at Maxton. You are required to have one if you run over 135.

It should. That color, along with the fuzzy dice on the rear view add at least 5MPH. :)

Cobb is dragging it's feet on the AxcessPort (AP) for the 07 Forester XT. It is now slated for release the end of March. Looks like I'll make the first meet without the engine mods and management. Will that allow me to run in STU? :?

Will there be someone at the Auto X school March 8th that can help with classing?

Jim, this is actually a great forum to bring up any classing questions, as there are no shortage of opinions and typically any details can get ironed out relatively quickly.

While there will be a VP and other THSCC staff at the March school event, we often don't recall all the details for the classing rules of some of the more highly prepared classes. So, if you're still unsure of classing after asking here, or would prefer to take the questions "off-line", please feel free to email autocross@thscc.com with the details of the mods and/or any specific questions and we'll get your questions answered.

Thanks for the help guys. Looks like I'll run STU for points next year. I'll leave the larger turbo off until next year.
Jim :D
