Kevin and I will be sitting around looking for something to do on Saturday, so count us in if there's a 'guys left out' activity.

We'll be there Friday and Saturday night, so can anybody recomend any good places to grab a bite and a drink?

Saturday lunch -- go to Mama Possum's. Great burgers, dogs and bbq. Everything is wrapped in wax paper, and french fries to die for. They do curb service too. The same ladies are waiting tables there that were there when I was in high school. Schoolfield Lunch is another favorite.

For dinner, I always recommend Joe and Mimma's for Italian food and El Vallarta for Mexican (it's better than Los Tres Maguyes).

Dangit, Google Maps frames > me. If you go to Google Maps, change to the search for businesses tab you'll pull them up. The original Mama Possum's on Arnett Blvd is the one to go to should you choose that option.

It's not quite that much fun in the carts they'll let us drive... but I could be interested in some karting anyway. Keep us posted.

Quick update...all information about Saturday's schedule will go out to instructors and students this evening. We had a flurry of registrations that changed up our agenda just a little (what a great problem to have!!!).

Those of you participating, hang tight - information is on the way!! :D

I was so jealous that I couldn't race today, I took a few spy photos. I hope they are having fun without us.

We managed to find something to pass the time though.
Watching racing is a good way to kill a day.

Many thanks to the organizers, instructors and sponsors for todays Chick School event! I know I learned a LOT under their tutelage (now to see if I can apply it tomorrow!) Being able to ride with so many fabulous female drivers was a great opportunity as well. It was a great way to see what I was *supposed* to be doing.

It was great to see everyones improvement over the course of just a day. Some of the other students had never even been to an AX before and were looking great and posting really aggressive times by the end of the day!

And, yes, the hats are way cool!

I am completely blown away by how great the school turned out this year. The ladies of THSCC are unbelievable and unparalleled! There is no other club around that could pull off what these ladies did today. 19 students, 11 instructors, approx 15 runs each, plus 3 autox runs, plus rides with instructors. THSCC has some hard core "CHICKS" that really kick a$$.

Don't be surprised if we don't suddenly have an influx of new female members - those students were PUMPED!!

I seriously cannot tell you how awesome everyone was today. Thanks to our sponsors (Hendrick Pontianc/Buick/GMC, Evolution Performance Driving and McGeorge Toyota) for supporting this endeavor and helping us share the autox love. Special and HUGE thanks to the club and its officers for the unwaivering support year after year.

Look for a detailed account of the day in the newsletter. And, watch this space for some inside video of Chick School highlights!!

Mo - you *ROCK* as a co-chair. You really helped us step up our game this year and put on our best school yet! THANKS!!!! :redcool:

Chris :car:

Almost missed s'more runs this month. :( Debbie got back to the hotel and the sway-bar end link gave out. Of course it was while I was pulling out of the parking spot to get gas, so it was obviously my fault.

She must have had a really good time today.

Brought my tools.... it's turning out to be an absolute necessity.

ALL FIXED !!! :P Well, hopefully fixed well enough to get through Sunday.

Fun, Fun, Fun.... There is just not much more you can say about today. Watching my first student start at 80 seconds on her first run of the day to finishing her "mini autocross" with a 45.777. I agree with Chris - I think we may see an influx of new chicks - the enthusiasm at the event was wonderful.

I can't remember a more laid back event - especially considering the number of runs that the student's got + a mini autocross at the end of the day.

Thanks to all the Tarheel chick instructors who donated their time & energy-- and Chris - thanks for all your effort and planning... it truly made the 2008 chick school excellent.

See you all tomorrow!!

Mo

Chris's wife, Gretchen, here. I want to thank all the instructors at the school - you were great! I was finally comfortable enough to put the gas pedal to the floor at least once or twice on Sunday. Now I'm ready to do it a little more often. :D

Awesome school this year gals! Thank you for allowing me to bring my work with me.

A side note...
My first contact with the ladies who were gracious enough to fill out the Hendrick questionnaire was sent today by email. If you asked to be contacted by telephone, I apologize. I have been sick for the last three days and can't talk. ( Gee now that I think of it, it must have been all the times that I yelled GAS GAS GAS GO GO GO) :whip:
I promise not to make a habit of emailing you if your preference was by phone.

This email was a thank you and an opportunity for me to discuss answers primarily to the 'sales experience' and 'lady sales professional' questions. It also mentioned that if you did not fill in at least one telephone number and your email address, our program will kick you out of the drawing. Sorry it's just the way it works. If you are not sure that you filled in at least this much, feel free to email (dcfracerlady@yahoo.com) or pm me here with the info and I can still add it for you. I want everyone to have an equal opportunity to win.

I did have two emails bounce. Emails to Alex and Gretchen bounced back. I'll be happy to resend it to them if I receive their address again. I may have misread letters or numbers on the form. Incorrect email addresses will also kick the entry out, so if I can fix this it would be great.

I love instructing.
It is so rewarding to see the improvement in everyone's driving. I so enjoy meeting all the ladies and hearing about their interest in autocrossing. I always learn so much from them.

Thank you to Chris and Mo for the opportunity.
