Interesting, yet not all that surprising. Certainly not a SS car to be sure.

Honestly, I don't think this will be as big a deal as folks might think. It's under 100lb lighter IIRC. They're all going to get aftermarket front swaybars anyway - the CR one is still too small for a good AS setup. I'd also be real surprised if they didn't all end up with fancy adjustable shocks, too - so out goes another of the CR changes over the base car.

Don't get me wrong though - if I were wealthy enough to justify an S2000 with no folding top and no A/C or stereo, and wanted as no bullchit an AS car as I could build...this just moved to the top of that list.

--Karl, who wonders if the CR wheels are much lighter than the ones he's got in the garage...

The big deal is how much will the better springs and lighter weight help. It's 100 pounds less IF you order it without the AC and radio, but nobody is going to do that, not even a hard core soloist, I don't think. So it's probably 65 pounds less. Then you remove the hard top and get back to 100 pounds less and you get stiffer springs. That'll make the CR a shade quicker, I'd guess. A tenth or so at most on a 60 second course. *shrug*

I like it. But not as much as I like the Shelby GT for FS. But I'm not buying anything without getting rid of something first, and even the GT isn't tempting me enough to get rid of anything.
