What is the track record for those of us slacka$$es who registered late, in terms of showing up and running? Have people ever been turned away?

Just trying to plan out the weekend

thanks

People have been turned away. We're more adamant about entry caps after DST ends. But 10-15 no-shows from the entry list is about average, so you have a very good chance.

But you know, if you showed up early and happily offered to help out with gate entry or at registration and made sure the right people knew that you were on the waitlist and had no expectation of getting in but were just happy to be out and help, well, that might get you somewhere....

SIDE NOTE - If anyone is ever waiting in line at the gate at an autocross and there are more than 5 cars waiting to sign the waivers at an overworked gate worker position -- pull up to the gate off to the side, jump out, grab a clipboard, and start HELPING the gate worker until you clear all the cars up to your position. Then grab your own wristband, jump back in the car, and go to pits. I've done this 3 or 4 times and I've been amazed that no one else thinks of doing it.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll give it a try, forest fire activity kept me away from the last AX, IT's RAINED since and I'll try anything for some seat time.
