Ok, lets complicate this even more. Can one equate a win in STS to a win in NOV? Because the competition is different wouldn’t one need to go to the results and see what the times would be in each event to move someone back into novice? Since NOV is a PAXED class that might change the standings even more. Just a thought.
That's exactly what I did in Kendt's example, and it's trivially done with the program I use. You'll notice his hypothetical positions in each class differ. I kept the times and simply changed the class. The program knows when to use the indexed or raw times, so it used indexed for NOV and raw for STS.
Not only that, but the program adjusted everyone else's hypothetical points in the class as if Kendt had run there in the first place. That would have been more obvious if I'd have posted the whole tables, but they're both kind of large classes and so I just extracted the parts that had Kendt in them. You can see that in event 5 for the hypothetical Novice, for example, where Kendt's time would have pushed Todd to third instead of second, changing Todd's points too.
To produce those hypothetical standings I just added one line of code when the results were read in, to check for "Kendt Eklund" and switch his class one way or the other.
