Any Tarheelers heading to Atlanta for this. I've trying to figure out if it's worth the trip.

And if I should spring for fresh meat.

Edit: And if anyone has run at AMS before, please share any info on it.

Maybe an ITR in DS.
Or half-assed STX prepped 330.

Bryan and I talked about going, but have decided to pass. I have points 19 points in AS from the 2 day divisional at Danville, but really no reason to go other than to make Stephen Turner and Brian Cembor's day :) - AB

Hmm. . .

Bummer. I think I could make a run for it even though I' only sitting on 34 points.

Have you driven down there before?

Negative. Knowing that it's 30 miles past Atlanta makes it even less desirable. From my house that's a 4 hour trip. It's getting on 6.5 hours one way for you, which would be the suck.

I'd save your tires and run November fun event. - AB

David, I've driven at the AMS several times, although it's been about 8 years, and it was a really good site - large and flat.

I'm 98.7% sure I'm going to head down there. I've heard great things about the site (echoing what Eric said) and with Heyward's involvement in designing the course, I can't imagine a better way to cap off the season.

I don't think it's worth buying new tires for but it should be worth attending if you're not too burnt out. It is a bummer that it is on the other side of Atlanta due to the extra potential traffic issues but hopefully there won't be any big jams.

I'll have to check my domestic credit vouchers. . . . It'd be fun to square off against GH one more time this season. Assuming he goes.

The Finale will also serve as an organizational jumping off point for the 2008 series. It is no secret that despite a great deal of effort put forth by event organizers from throughout the division, the Super Regional series was not the roaring success many of us had hoped for. Personally, I believe that the Southeast has the resources to have the strongest series in the nation. However, it takes more than resources to develop a successful series. It takes a shared belief that the recreational, competitive and social attributes of these events make them a priority. It will take time to grow our series to such a level, however, that time can be greatly reduced if the participants' have ownership in the series.

I am happy to serve as your Divisional Solo Steward, but this is not my series. It belongs to the membership. Soon there will be a survey available online to help determine what direction is best for our series. In the mean time, I want to hear from the membership, either via email, or in person at the Finale event. I want to know what you want from your divisional program.

Yours for the sport,

Heyward Wagner
SEDIV Solo Steward

She did pretty good driving the 944 in the fun runs at the last event. :)

I didn't see any THSCCers on the preentry list so far. Low # of entries, a lot of SEDiv trophies up for grabs. Should be a fun time, Heyward always puts up good courses, free first rounds at the Sat nite party.

Looks like a 90% chance I'll be going...possibly not in the 944, though. I don't think the Branscombs trust that car to make it to GA.
