Well hopefully my 325 will be ready for Nov 11th autox down at Sanford. I however have no idea what class it will be in so I figured this would be a good place to ask

89 325i
stock motor
4.10lsd
16" wheels
RD springs w/Bilstein sports
RD sway bars

Looks like DSP would be the "easiest" class in terms of PAX. You're also legal for other classes like STX if you're on street tires (I think, at least STU), SM, XP, and probably one or two others.

Only legal in STX if the 4.10 gear set was an option on that specific car (the ratio must also be legal in stock class)

Well the 4.10 was an option with the automatic trans as far as I know. Never came with it in a 5spd tho.

If I am correct that makes the car legal for DSP due to update/backdate but not legal for STX.

That is also my interpretation.

Yep. I didn't realize that the 4.10 wasn't stock, I just thought he was highlighting the LSD addition.

Another classing question:

A friend of ours is running his first autox this Sunday.

03 Mini Cooper S.
The only mods are
- steel brake lines (StopTech)
- slotted aftermarket rotors (PowerSlot)

Does this move him to SP and if so, which SP class.

Thanks for your help. I couldn't figure it out by reading the manual.

STX if on street tires, but DSP if on R-compounds.
