This poll is to gauge interest in a one-day members-only NCAC prep event at Danville the weekend prior to the NCAC. The purpose is to help you and your fellow club members prepare for the NCAC event to be held the following weekend. The proposed format is a mix of drills/instruction and test & tune.

If you are interested in participating , and in the case of the more experienced autocrossers, helping set up the drills and instruct, please select one of the choices above.

Hey Art,
You said Saturday, Sunday, or either. Where's the "either" in the poll.
We're in for either, but I'll mark Saturday for now.

Let us know what we can do to help.

I had to delete the poll and add it back to create the either option. Only 4 people had voted. So if you were one of them, vote again.

We are going to need more than 9 people to have this event. If you think you will be there, please vote. If there isn't enough interest generated within a week or so, we will have to call it off.

True, true…but our next AX is July 15th and unless you go to Triad, the Coventry Games, or up to Richmond, why sit for 5 weeks before another chance to shine! With this event, we’ll have lots of practice one week before the NCAC, at the same location!

Do we know if the Cup rules will be the same this year? Maybe Highlands will add a "long-distance" factor or a "small club" factor that changes the equation...

I'm getting my "practice" at the Commonwealth Games. Test and tune < competition IMHO.

I figure that if we conduct some knowledge/technique sharing among our members, and get in a little extra practice on the exact same site as the NCAC event, we can win the cup by a larger margin. Why let the other clubs have any trophies?

We need two things to make this work:

1) about 50 entrants, to cover expenses.

2) a significant number of THSCC's best autocrossers to come and share their strategies and techniques with the rest of us. Since I haven't cracked a THSCC top 10 in years (and haven't run a non-THSCC event since 1996), I'm not one of those best autocrossers :(

We'll discuss this at the club meeting tonight.

If y'all get this going, I have no problem riding up and helping with instruction.

Arthur, Gwen and I will get the bus/trailer to and from Danville, so no worries on that. Lets get the fifty participants. This could also be considered an intermediate school not just a tune up for NCAC.

If you don't get 50, are the people here willing to pay a little more?
