Come on, Jim. How many people at a typical autocross wouldn't crush you in a drag race at just about any distance?

Hey now, we all know it's not the size of your motor but the loco in your motion. Errr, or something like that.

Besides, I see 3 Miatas in the results that I could pull at least a 1/2-a-car length on in the 1/4 mile. That has me besting more than 2% of the cars at the event so I have no idea what you are talking about. :|

Wow. Sounds like all this bracket race chatter means we need to get some folks to Rockingham. :P

I have to work on my stills edit from the event, and then I'm going to go back and monkey around with the comparison video.

I know you were joking about this, but its not a bad idea. We haven't had a THSCC Drag Queen competition in years. I haven't run the Z06 through the 1/4 mile yet, and would like to, plus it might make me feel better about the the sucking I've been doing with it on the autocross course. :D I suggest going to the Fayetteville strip instead of Rockingham though, as we can go on a Sunday afternoon there for test n' tune and its usually not so crowded.

So anyone up for a THSCC "Drag Day" at Fayetteville? I know I can count at least Walter in. Did I here someone say Chris Landi has 550 hp in his STI? He's gotta come.

I'm in. I've been wanting to get the Mustang on the strip for a while and it would help me check off another form of motorsports from my to do list for this year.

Autocross - check
Rallycross - check
Pro Solo - check (DC in June)
Drag racing -
Track Day -

I could be in. I know it's apples and brocolli, but I'd be really happy to have the first time I run off a tree not be at the DC Prosolo.

Maybe an admin can split the drag race discussion off into another thread.

Your the man!

If I get enough interest, I'll arrange us a special bracket race with the facility.

What would be better on the drag strip, the 3.90 open rear end or the 3.73 welded one?

I know launch is important and all, but how is it launch vs gearing?

I would say that as long as you think you can get a decent launch, the lower gearing would serve you better.

The gearing will be more important. As for the launch, bring those Falkens and dump them down to about 12psi in the rear. With the amount of rubber down, hooking up won't be too big an issue. ;) - AB

Any idea on a time frame? I think the lude might be able to pull of high 14's.

Ditto on the AARRR! Let's do it so I have a motivation to get the Vtec working again.

THSCC autocross at Laurinburg - June 10

Midnite Street Drags at Rockingham - June 9

Coincidence? Maybe. I still wish we were not autocrossing the weekend of the Gold Cup vintage races at VIR.
