Anyone want a co-driver? I don't want to burn the Hoosiers off the Crossfire to quickly. I will either pay the car owner's entry fee for the event or make a seperate $20 donation above my entry fee. PM me if you are interested. TIA.

Generous offer. You suppose doing an event in the Crossfire costs you more than $20 in tires?

It all depends on how long my tires last. I know the rears will last a good while but the fronts I am not sure about. I try not to think about how much per run it would cost to run the car. That is one issue with running Hoosiers IMO since I can't afford more than 2 sets a season at this point. Now if Kuhmo would just up and build a 19 inch race tire.

That's too bad Keith. Bryan and I will be debuting our Crossfire at that event.. on Konis and Hoosiers too. - AB

Not a chance Ryna. Unlike you and VK, no broke back mountain going on here. It's Bryan's car. My next one will likely have a V8. - AB

Oh snap, I just realized you meant $20 for the event, not per run.

What kind of jalopy are you hoping to get a ride in for $20?

HMM, now your tempting me. So you stole my idea for a DS car huh? I installed my front Konis yesterday and will have my larger front bar on by this weekend. I might have to contemplate this one for a few minutes to make a decision if you truly are going to be there.

Some people are not trying to make money by having a co-driver and I found someone nice enough to let me drive their car. I am easy on equipment. But whatever you can think what you want.

Didn't steal the idea, just waited for the proper size 19" race rubber to come out. Custom wheels are expensive for this beast. Our rears were quoted at $1500 each, but woud be 10# lighter per wheel.

On paper, I don't think it has a disadvantage to anything, even without the LSD. Especially now that everyone has said that Heartland Park has gotten 5x more grippy than in 2006. - AB

I don't think he's talking about making money, but not losing money is also nice. A co-drive should be at worst a break even situation, even among friends. - AB

hehe, thank you for calling my car a "jalopy", and what I'm trying to do is to leech a little bit of knowledge out of a more experienced driver co-driving my car in addition to covering some of my costs. Given that I'm on street tires, I don't think I'm burning up that much $ worth of rubber or anything, I'm interested to see what he can do, that is of course, if he doesn't change his mind and decide to go Crossfire against Crossfire. . .

so how much are you guys saying I should charge him?

Has anyone ever competed with a Crossfire at a national level?

Not on race tires. Except in 2004 when a guy tried running the 18 inch wheel setup that is mentioned in the owners manual as a winter tire setup. That guy got protested for running illegal rear wheels and the protest was upheld.

On the other topic I guess I just come from a different background in the club in NY that I ran my first 3 years with. It was a very small club and everyone was always car hopping. The most anyone did was cover the car owner's entry fee and be prepared to fix something if they broke it. Unless they were co-driving for more than one event, then the splitting costs would come into play. Just a different background so sorry if I am deemed as a cheap poor college student, for the next week when I graduate and am just unemployed.
