Where were you Evo School Students who were going to test all you learned at the Top Gun Challenge? We missed you. Myself, Bernie, Gordon Taylor, Jeff Eng and Todd Emmershy were all who showed up from our club. New River is a very nice site-good concrete with just a little asphalt as the start and finish. It’s right on the river with a good breeze. Only about 55-60 drivers for 3 runs AM and PM, break for lunch, and fun runs at the end. Trophies and out by 4 PMish.

I was in 1st place when we broke for lunch, but managed to live up to my license tag and cone myself into 2nd by the end of the day.
Todd finished 2nd in Novice on street tires-getting the R-compound pounding.
Jeff took SM2 and Gordon finished 2nd.
Bernie showed us all that he was paying attention at Evo School by taking HS by about 4 seconds, and finishing 2nd overall in PAX. Congratulations, old man, ahhh, I mean Sweetheart.

I really wanted to go, but a weekend at home was much needed. Turns out we had to take our cat to the vet first thing Sunday morning too, so I guess it was the wise choice.

Walnut Ridge Tour - 'Pro'Solo. Fortunately for our 12 hour drive, the Tour was good. The ProSolo left a lot to be desired. At least Mazda/Kumho pay for 2nd place. - AB

Yeah. I needed a weekend at home. Sounds like a good time. I'd like to run with NCR. I mean, I'm member and all now.

I'm not sure what I'm driving.
Maybe an ITR in DS.
Or half-assed STX prepped 330.

I hope everyone that showed up had a good time, we certainly lucked out on the weather this weekend. It was nice to meet up with some of the other EVO students from last week and refresh what we had learned and apply it to the event.

From my experience I noticed some improvement in my driving this weekend, but I think it will take a few more events before I realize some actual gains. The EVO instructors mentioned it would take a few events to see some improvements and that certainly seems the case for me, unlike Bernie's experience.

BTW, congrats Bernie on your 2nd overall PAX time, and help leading he kestrel racing team to another victory in the team autocross competition.

Jeff

I hate Richard. I might run a few events with them when he isn't an officer.

We really needed the time to work on our tow vehicle to ready it to tow our trailer. We are also concentrating on asphalt surface events this season.
We will be at Danville this weekend.

Holy Crap, Walter! Don't hold back. Seriously, NCR has a great group of people...and more than one club officer! This is Richard's last year as event co-ordinator and many others are stepping up and producing good events. Besides, he's pretty caught up with his new formula car. Their events are so close for you, you should come. Hope we'll see you there soon. Anyway, see you on the 20th @ Sanford.

I have to admit my ears perked up when I read Walter's reply. This Richard must be a prick.

Ashley, you might want to hold your opinion on someone until you actually meet them, rather than make a decision based on what someone else says. Richard has always been top drawer with Bernie and me, and has helped us out more than once at one of their events. Obviously he rubbed Walter the wrong way at some point. But, hey, that’s just my opinion, especially in a more or less public forum format.

Don't worry, I try not to judge people, especially not until I have had the pleasure of meeting them in person. But, I have met Walter, and he seems so mild mannered, I have to say that this Richard must have really pissed him off at some point. I will reserve my final opinion until I have more to go on.
