The Tire Rack is having a close out sale on the Avon Tech RAs. For example, 225/45-15s are going for $129 each. They have a fair number of sizes left. I wish I needed some tires as I hate to pass up a really good deal. FWIW, Chris & I have about 110 runs on our set and they still are not showing cord...and they are 1 1/2 years old. They still felt decent during the few runs I made during the Laurinburg Mazda School.

Although even on closeout they're only $15 less than the V710s I usually run. Decisions, decisions.

Sigh...I'm thinking 225s up front and 275 rear (the only 17" sizes I see) would result in an understeering pig of an S2000...crap.

For $15 more I'd definitely go with the V710s.

I just bought them. I couldn't justify $21 p/tire when I am not doing national events. I had them before and they were fine for me. In my case it was an easy decision.

Just wondering how much tire I'm going to burn up at the Evo School.

That's what we decided to start the year on, given the good deal.

I'll be running my new Azenis at the EVO, though.

Good thing is Danville is not especially hard on tires, bad thing is expect 30-50 runs depending on school. With the camber challenged Mini I'd expect you'll burn up a set of tires.

Did you check the price on the 710s lately? I went looking for some fresh tires for the MINI and was bummed to see Tire Rack now wanting $162 apiece for the 710s in 205/50-15... :(

Yeah. The 215/40-16 is $165 a pop. Still less than the 205/45-16 Hoosier A6.

So I guess that makes the Avons $16 less. . .

I'm seriously considering, given the special needs of my right foot, running Phase 1 on streets. I've got a set of Hankooks I think would make it.
