THSCC was recently informed by the RBC Center that we can no longer use their facilities for autocrosses. Tuesday's event there will be our last, unless something changes in the future.

That means no regular weekend event either next year. We will be working out a schedule change for 2004 soon.

We were told that it was a decision by the RBC Center's insurance provider, and that it was not because of anything we have done.

Sorry for the bad news everyone - but it was great fun while it lasted!

Man that really sucks. Guess we'll just have to find someplace bigger, maybe a little flatter, and not as many obstacles. Besides that the location was great and always enjoyed going out there.

It sure is/was :(

Thanks to everyone who made those events possible!!! Getting the site for normal autocrosses was a major accomplishment and then thinking up and organizing the Night Series was really something special. Those folks responsible should really feel proud about what they accomplished!!!

This just proves that insurance companies and litigation is killing all the fun in the world.

Any tries at getting the old EPA Fortress? They've moved so maybe you'd have a chance. Would make a killer Night Event site...

I live pretty close to the old EPA place and I was thinking the same thing this past weekend. I drove past and it looks like there was a name on the gates (new occupant?) but I can't remember who it was. The parking lot looked to be empty however. Lots of light poles, but not so bad that you couldn't work around it.

The lot looked like it might have had some type of sealent put on in the past. I assume that would make it really slick.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

They sealed the parking lot of my apartment complex a couple of months ago; what used to be a really fun sharp right hand hairpin at the entrance into a holy crap! understeer extravaganza. Umm, I mean I guess that that's what would happen if you drove it excessively hard, not that I ever do that ...
