I'm (somewhat) hoping the question got lost in another thread somewhere. Have we negotiated a club price for hotel accomodations in Laurinburg for the weekend?

I just punched up the Hampton Inn website, and found rooms *start* at 80/night. It's been a while, but that seems steep to me. Other recommendations? I need a room for both nights, being that I'm instructing in the school on Saturday.

I just called the Hampton Inn to see what kind of "group rate" I could get.

In 04 or 03 (i forget). I had gotten both Hampton Inn at Southern Pines and Laurinburg to give us a group rate. That was arranged with the managers. So you need to get with them. Our group rate is under code "THSCC". Last time I spoke with them they weren't going to dump our code but would adjust the rate accordingly each year. Like they do with any business.

I tried to reserve a room and they scratched their heads when I mentioned the code I found on here. I'm waiting on a phone call from the manager.

If that doesn't work out, I understand that the Jameson Inn is about the same $$$.

I just called again as I was waiting for him to call me too. They said he just left for the day. How convenient.

I called there yesterday and asked for the Tarheel sports car club rate and they gave me what seemed to be a lower rate. I can't remember what it was, I think about $70.

You have to ask for it.

I set the rate up last year with management but it took several phone calls and days to get a response.

El Presidente,

You might want to consider adding this to the Manager of Business Development or Site Search Coordinator job description. It just needs to be done once a year in January. Then maybe a letter at the end of the season thanking them. The same with the Jamesson Inn would be a good idea also.

If it is the same manager of Hampton Inn L'burg he can be tough to reach. But he does get back to you. He was pretty accommodating when I worked with him. He offered their conference/meeting room for us when we were there. He also had no problem with us using the back for the 40th anniversary party or parking our cars and truck/trailer back there.

Well, I just called the Hampton Inn Laurinburg and asked for a THSCC rate. They offered $70/night for a non-smoking double, down from the 80/night their website had. I pulled the trigger.
