As some of you may have heard, the Mazda Club is putting on an autocross school together with THSCC at Laurinburg the day before the test and tune. We are going to use the same layout as THSCC will be using the following day (setup Friday afternoon).

I already have some folks expressing interest in instructing and I'm looking for another six or seven instructors right now...maybe more depending on how well the school fills out.

Prefer you to have and drive a Mazda but we'll have a stash of invisible temporary Mazda badges for those without them. ;)

We want:
Clear communicators
Fast drivers with a decent amount of experience autocross
Prefer you to have some previous experience instructing, either autocross or track

You get:
Free runs, free lunch and you won't have to shag cones. :)

Post here to indicate interest. Please note that we want to try and have a hot course ~9:30 a.m. We are hopefully going to come up with a schedule so that you aren't too overworked and get some downtime to tweak on your suspension.

Details are on our website and forum.

My list thus far (updated as I get replies):
Donnie Barnes
Jonathan Roberts
Chris Peterson
Kevin Butler
Les Davis
Rob Lupella
Karl Shultz
Rick Butters
Jason Mauldin

Many thanks,
--Ashraf

Ashraf, if it's OK my wife Chris Peterson will be taking my place. She's done plenty of instructing and finished 2nd in Nationals in CSL a three years ago in our Miata. I'll be babysitting the girls that day and will likely show up at the school later in the morning.

Thanks,
Eric

Eric,

Tell Chris we appreciate her coming! I was hoping we would have at least one female instructor.

If we get in off the waiting list and have the car ready we will be in GA that weekend for the Tour event. Otherwise we would help out.

I need a chief instructor. Anyone of you already signed up willing to do "the talk" in the morning (scoring, safety, etc.)?

Ashraf - you can put me down to instruct if you guys still need help. My autocross skillz are pretty rusty but I'm registered for the test and tune to try and de-rustify myself...

Karl,

You are in.

I need at least three more volunteers. I may be able to take a couple more once I work up the schedule middle of next week.

I dropped out of Dixie recently to help open up a spot for you! That's just how nice I am.

I'm trying to keep it "in the family"...free runs, free lunch...what more would one want?

(Before Wes suggests it...we have no room for trophy girls in the budget)

Anybody want to instruct but isn't sure if they have the "right stuff"...get a hold of me, you probably do...

Rob and Cosby are going to be around, I could use them if necessary (I think they may want to hang back to be able to fine-tune things for your TnT the day after) but I'd like to have a couple extra instructors so that there are plenty of you to go around and you can enjoy your run time, too.

Regards,
--Ashraf

I'm probably borderline. Well, I don't have a Mazda anymore so that probably rules me out. Even if I did, I'll be at the Georgia Tour.

Have a great event.

Maybe an ITR in DS.
Or half-assed STX prepped 330.
