Thats the only 15" size the Falken comes in I think, which might be why he went so narrow. Is the Falken really that much superior of a tire that a 205/50 is a better choice than a 225/45 Hankook RS2 Z212 that can still be put on a 15x7?
He and I both ran the Hankooks and neither of us felt they gave the overall grip of the Falkens, plus you can only get the Kook in a 225/45/
16, which was worse gearing than the 205/50/15.
The Hankooks also needed to be shaved to be faster (3/32" or less preferably) and were noisy as hell, even when giving them smooth inputs. The Azenis (215 or 615) can be run fast at full tread and rarely make any noise.
If I were you Brice, I'd buy the 15x8's and run the 205 Azenis RT615 on it. Russell Blume did a test on his '91 318is for the 6 events he ran it Nationally in STX, and the car was over .5 second faster on 15x8's as compared to 15x7's with the same tire and wheel weight differentials of less than 1 #. - AB
