Yeah that's John M. Sr's car. Last time I saw John the younger he was still working in Indian Trail at an engineering consulting company.

Wow, that was my second or third event ever - my first one was at GTCC when Teague ran into the telephone pole with the CRX. Lots of familiar names on that list.

I stand corrected. The metric crapton of receipts didn't list a Sr. or Jr. on them.

Volkswagen. The silent killer.

Yo Bowie, what's up, long time no see. Yea, John M. was a rocket fast driver. Didn't he shock a bunch of people at the Petersburg Pro Solo in 1997 during his national event. He was so fast that some folks thought his car was illegal.

BTW, have any SCCA storm troopers attacked you lately :-)

You are missing the fun of a June event at Rocky Mount if all you look at are results. Anyone have pictures of the trophy presentation, besides me? For the record I still have the Miata I drove to second place in street tire class, the car was almost show room new at the time, and I was not happy about being beat out for first by a relative newcomer named Mike Whitney. But second place still got a trophy. :D

If I recall correctly, you weren't too happy the rest of that season. ;-)

Oh yeah, and I still have a picture from that day myself. :D

The Christmas party ought to be a lot of fun. Bring your thick skin, because weenies might need a box of Kleenex and a bottle of salve.

You 86 Bowie's dead birds, you might get your feelings hurt. Word to your mother.

As Mike said...

"cars that we rarely see don't count"

You're in jeopardy! Get yourself on out and join us for the Sanford members-only event. :)

But my car was not like that when I bought it. Here some pictures.

That's astounding Patrice. Quite a transformation to that beast of a thing doing a buck thirty down the VIR-S pit straight, gear and oil temp limited. Playing with you at VIR-S is a lasting memory for me.

I hope to see you guys at the "Members Only" event this month. It'll be an awful autocross car, but it'll also be really seriously fast on a straight. Patrice...I'll drag race ya

Fogleman upset me to no end at that event. I really needed those 1st place points to give me some breathing room over Heyward in the state championship battle. At least I was top 5 pax. I had to rely on Heyward not making Bele Chere to wrap it up. Ah, memories.

Messenhiemer: Haven't heard anything out of Jr. in a LONG time. He was in the Charlotte area. If he would have simply brought the proper artillery to nationals, he could have been a nats champ. He was stupid fast in cars that had absolutely no business whatsoever being that fast.

When is this members-only autox?

I used to have a "Member Only" jacket, they were quite trendy in the "80's. Will everyone have to wear one?
