As the subject says, I am looking for some autocrossers to instruct at a Mazda Sports Car Club autocross/school that is being hosted with THSCC's assistance on November 18th at Sanford (the day before the THSCC autocross).

Most of the participants of this event will be new to autocross but there are a few "rusty" folks that would probably want some help.

What is required:
Good communicators who are experienced drivers (2+ seasons of experience would be nice)
You will be assigned to 2-3 students across two student run groups of 20 each (you probably will be "rushed" in the morning and things should calm down later on in the day once folks get the hang of it and will want to run on their own)

What we would like:
Your vehicle is a Mazda or you have some autocross experience in a Mazda
You have a car you can take students for a ride in

What you get:
Free entry (we are limiting the event to about 40 participants + instructors) - there will be plenty of runs to be had
Free lunch

Spots filled on first come, first serve basis. I have one MSCCNC member from TSCC already signed up for this and may solicit a few more from there depending on how many THSCC'ers I can get.

PM me to express interest or for more information.

Thank you,
Ashraf Farrag
President, Mazda Sports Car Club of North Carolina

Ashraf -- I think I could help out.

I will bring the Rx-8 with me. I also have experience in Miatas and I have the SSC Protege as well.

Ashraf,

Add me to your list. I need to double check my schedule, but I should be able to be there.

Todd and Adam,

You are on the list. I've got 4 instructors so far. Still looking for a few more. I'll post when I've got enough.

Thanks,
--Ashraf

Ashraf,

I should be able to make it on Saturday. I will make sure to bring the Miata along that day.

I can talk the talk, it's just walking the walk that ends up being trouble. :?

I've done okay at two previous Viper schools.

Not that I qualify, but I'm out of town. :(

(I do have seat time in a Miata though.)

Maybe an ITR in DS.
Or half-assed STX prepped 330.

It wasn't *my* student that put four wheels off into the ditch at Sanford.

What time do you plan to be finished? Not knowing anything about this, I was going to get there around 2pm to set up for the tarmac rallyx. So now the bus will already be there and we'll have plenty of setup crew, but I just want to make sure we have enough time to set up. I heard something about the Mazda event finishing at 5pm, which would mean Sunday morning setup for us. I've been stuck doing that before, and it's not something I want to do again.
