Thanks to everyone who braved the terrible weather forecast and made it out to the event, and a big thanks to everyone who stepped up and lent an extra hand -- Rob for getting there early and mowing and all his hard work when he could only get 2 runs in before leaving today; Dave for being a good-natured event-chair in training; Cos for driving the bus; Christine for yummy sandwiches; Rob L and Tom O and everyone else who helped set up on a pretty miserable Saturday! And everyone else who steps up and works their asses off as usual to make THSCC the best.

Despite the forecast of rain ALL DAY and the freaking deluge early in the morning, the dark clouds moved on by about 9:30 and we got almost all 92 drivers through 5 runs before the drizzle started in the last heat. The day turned out FAR more pleasant than I expected!

If anyone is interested, here is a MPG of I think my 4th run, a 66.1+1. (28MB)

http://www.nogumracing.com/whitney/2006 ... inburg.MPG

FYI it was taken with my 2-year-old point and shoot Sony DSC-W1 camera on a tripod strapped into the back seat. It's a great little camera.

To add on to this..

Thanks go to Dustin for setting up the canopy at waiver sign-in. We experienced periods of heavy downfall early on. Sign-in would have ceased without it.

Thanks go to the drivers that got out of their cars without bitching during the worst of it. Passing out the waivers from under the canopy was not working so many folks had to get out and come to us.

Thanks go to the Saturday set up crew. Spending a day out in the rain was selfless and appreciated.

While walking it I thought it would be a little tight. However, after running it it proved to be pretty good. As usual, I think it really rewarded the driver to look ahead. I don't know if I would have changed a thing, except for maybe the confusing stop box at the end.

We found out late on setup day that the course was even MORE fun driven in the other direction -- starting on the "P". Due to several logistical problems we couldn't change it that late :) I don't know why it was better the other way,

Next time though, I'm doing it the other direction.

I thought the course was pretty good. Stop boxes are for tight places with lots of things to hit after a finish. We don't/didn't need one in LB.

PS. Mike, I spun right where Patrice said and was nowhere near that mound of dirt. I was off about 15 feet in the grass though!

Great day given the weather. I was second guessing myself all the way there. . . sure enough right on cue at about 9:30 things started improving.

Co-Chair in training helped reinforce how much effort goes into pulling one of these off. So thanks again to all the peopel who pull it together.

More thanks to Mary/Carl for posting the results so quickly!

The course was a blast. Rob's Fault drove much better than it walked. Although there's one cone I'd liked to have prefered to epoxy to the runway surface. (Thanks to Wes for pointing that one out to me.)

Sybil didn't live up to her name as the day dried out. She was fully medicated by the afternoon heats.

For the record, I'll never get tired of sweeping on to or off of the crossover. I wish I had a little more air in the rear tires on my last run.

Other than the initial drenching it wasn't a bad day. A little slick for grid A run group 1 but things really improved as the day wore on. the course was long and fun to run, good job guys.
What a great club, 92 fools who wait out a torrential downpour, about twenty more who hover over Mailia, Marisa and Dustin till the state troopers run us off, and then the results are posted Monday early AM.
Thats why THSCC IS the premier auto club in the state. I hate to see this seasons points autox's end. Don't know how many more seasons I've got left.

Yeah, me too, I don't know which cone it was I was so fond of, but coneing away the FTD not once but twice results in a pretty frustrating day. :(

It was really nice to run a "Miles Loop" type course again. Feels like its been a long time. I will never get tired of them. I didn't even really miss the boost. :) Good job guys.
