Might want to bring several weed wackers down there. Since you haven't run there all summer. The ECTA guys will only clean the inside of the runway where it affects them. The good concrete on the outside (closer to the airport) will be buried in weeds... :(

Rob's looking into renting or borrowing a full-size sweeper. If he can he's gonna get down there early on Sat. I'm hoping the sweeper can scrub all the weeds out of the cracks.

Rob - keep us updated on the progress getting a sweeper. As I mentioned, I think they have one down there that they may loan us or rent to us.

Well if you can't get the sweeper. When I did the event with Miles a couple of years ago we took a riding mower. With Rob last year we tried a push mower. It's a long way to walk with just 2 people!

Spent the whole day mowing and weed wacking. We found mowing it helped but the weed wackers get into the cracks really good and tear the stuff out. Those weeds are pretty hearty and seem to be well fed

Oh, and a couple of leaf blowers might be handy too!

That site is no fun to cleanup and prep. But it's a friggin' blast to drive on :D

What's the hotel du jour?

Not sure what time I'll get down there yet (just hoping to be able to drive...something about rolling your go-kart over doesn't feel too good on the shoulder - the right one of course!). If it's early enough I can surely help with setup.

I'd volunteered Kevin and myself, but the in-laws decided to come to town so we're tied up on Saturday. see you Sunday!

Hampton Inn seems to be popular. Going rate is a $65/night double.

OK....so right now we have:

Rob Harvey
Mike Whitney
David Spratte
Bill (David's bud)
Cosby Woods
Rob Lupella
Tom Osetek
David Ekstrom (Possibly)

If anyone else can help, it will be much appreciated. Laurinburg is a huge site and there is a lot of clean up that needs to take place. Plus, you will get an early look at the course!! If you can make it, please be there at 1 PM.

Sorry I can't make it down Saturday to help out.

But, I would be deeply indebted to anyone of you who can make sure that Tom O wears a blindfold while at the site Saturday afternoon and drinks very large amounts of beer on Saturday night.

Everyone planning on coming down for setup --

1. We're still on for setup at (or before!) 1pm
2. Bring a weedeater and/or blower if you have one and extra space.
3. It's currently dry but may sprinkle later, bring gear.
4. We are entering using the Golden Knights entrance today

(The GKs aren't jumping today, and Rob couldn't find anyone to give us the key for the other entrance)
