Does anyone really give a hoot about the "cup"? What are the plans if we would win it...run around the parking lot holding it up, like the Stanley Cup? Maybe every class winner should get the cup for one day.

I sincerely hope we can have an event that runs as smoothly and as friendly as last year's event. Anything less, no "cup" will make up for it. And for those of you who did not attend last year, the bar is very, very, very high.

Last year, they had Friday night registration and tech open until 10 or 11 at night.

The Club Cup seems to be getting a pretty good response. I have talked to many folks that are really excited to see how it pans out. Granted, Highlands doesn't have enough folks signed up to make a stand, maybe after all the hype around it this year, it will increase participation in years to come for all the clubs.

I was at last years event and know what a great job TSCC did (notice I've mentioned at the top of the event details). Make no mistake that we intend to follow up with another strong event. Hopefully everyone knows that this can't be done without everyone's cooperation and help. Being that this is THSCC's year to hold the event, I ask that any of our members do what they can to make the event go smoothly. We have never been short of volunteers in our club...let's not make this the exception.

Speaking of smooth, are we going to use the wireless timer?

That would be a negative. We won't be needing it in that lot.

Yes it is set high. Everyone can put down those Triad pom poms and pick up some THSCC pom poms after this event.

Already:
-We will have better event shirts
-We will have better event trophies

With the muscle of THSCC running the show, I have no doubt that this will be the best NCAC to date. It certainly is shaping up to be the biggest in quite some time. I know it wont be easy, but it will be worth it.

I would not be surprised to bust 250 entrants, its seems Triad folks dont like to preregister for some reason. Yes 250 people is kinda scary as that is about 50% bigger than any THSCC event I have been involved with in my 8 years with the club.

Then Highlands can worry next year how to top us.

I will have my pom poms out at the Wednesday night meeting to rally our troops.

Nothing was wrong with my shirt from last year - except half of the ink washed off in the first washing.

That's not Triads fault.

T-shirst and trophies do not make the event. This is a great chance to dispel the "elistist" tag that THSCC has.

If you are expecting 200-250 drivers, probably a good idea to start the expectation of only 3 runs. Getting three runs is not a a slight on any club.

This is something we have talked about already. I really hate to make that decision until we see just exactly who ends up showing up on Saturday morning as well as the final course design. 3 runs is a possibility though.

Another consideration with large numbers of entries (assuming they actually show up) is whether to run 4 or 5 run/work groups.

Were on top of it. I appreciate all the suggestions from everyone, but please trust we are very aware of our situation and our options.

At Greenville we did 5 runs with 116 drivers. That took us about 5 hours to complete, including the 15 minute course walk between heats (which Ryan still owes me a beer for). So that breaks down to about 30 seconds per car. And that was running an 17-18 second overlap on the course!! We tried 15 second overlap for a while :-)

If you apply those numbers, you are looking at seven and a half hours to complete the event. That is assuming there are no timing issues and the actual overlap is between 17-18 seconds. You increase overlap by two seconds, add another 30-40 minutes.

The ideal safety overlap is 20-25 seconds. In Greenville, the lack of cones being hit allowed us to shorten that up. Add in run groups that will be 2 or 3 times larger than Greenville, such a short overlap can get vexing on course workers and time/scoring. There simply is not time to caught your breath.

Will we have a break for a mid event course walk? That is my only gripe the VA State event...that was a long time for groups 4 and 5 between morning walk and when they got to run. Otherwise, put FS in the first or second group ;-)

If we wanted to do the same thing over and over we'd just go to a road course.

I vote for 1 run :) Let's put people's skills to the test!

For the "FTPAX-Ladies" and bonus points, does this include all women drivers, or just the ones running in the ladies classes?
