NCAC - IMPORTANT - Possible Free Autocross....

I thought that last part would get your attention!

As some of you may have heard, there will be a 'club cup' trophy at the NCAC this year. It is a points system similar to what we use for year end points. We must unite and take down the other clubs. CCR MUST have this trophy!

We need as many 1st & 2nd place finishes as we can get to secure the win.

IF CCR Wins the club cup, CCR will provide free entry for the 24hrs for any competitor that competes for "team CCR" at the NCAC and wins his/her class. CCR will provide a $10 discount to any autocross for anyone who competes for CCR and finishes 2nd in their class.

These 'payouts' will only happen if we win, so recruit as many people as you can!

VICTORY WILL BE OURS!

Steven

They seem to be getting out their best drivers. Their A-stock entries include:
-Rob Falkner
-GH Sharp
-Wade Carpenter
-Greg Pressley

We need to rally our troops! We have a great turn-out in terms of total percentage of drivers so far, but need to enlist the help of some of better drivers that aren't yet signed up.

Well, the good news is that all their "best" drivers are stacked into one class. that's defeats the purpose, no?

I doubt they will win the club club from the one class they have a strong showing in :P :P

Oh, and Triad officers are recruiting members from other clubs to run under their name. I guess it's all in the spirit of fair competition.

http://www.g1teg.org/brrscca/viewtopic. ... ht=#168045

That's all right, I'm sure THSCC has a few connections too. Maybe Rod McGeorge won't be in Wendover, or Mike and Diane Johnson, or Tim Aro, or Jon Roberts, or Jim Roberts, or...

Yeah, I think we'd win that one too.

Hey, Shawn Whipple, where are you?

Scott

As you will read...Anthony rescinded his offer. This was discussed amongst the officers as not necessairly in the "spirit" of good sportsmanship.

On a different note, there is nothing wrong with digging up long time but rarely scene club members. I happened to stop by HH&W today to see if I could ignite a conversation about a possible appearance by a certain blue and green Opel Manta to represent THSCC in EP. That's the kind of recruting the clubs need to be promoting. Any other thoughts on folks to represent us in The P and M classes? We are kind of hurting there where the other clubs are a bit stronger. What are the chances we can get Mr Wehman to make a trip from IN to represent in DM (does he still have the Caterham?). I can think of a few of our own DS people that might not want to see Mr Whipple show up....but that sounds like another good one. We have enough good drivers in our membership that we don't have to go outside. It would be nice to see some of them on course again too. Dick, where the hell is the FF? I don't see it on the pre-reg list yet!

IMHO, Matt McGrain has an easy lock on DS (Charlie has a shot if he's on new tires). We need Shawn in another class, like DSP, maybe even in Stephen's car :)

I have very fresh tires on the Celica and would entertain the possiblity of it being run in multiple classes (DSP, EP, DM, EM, etc). Bring your own street tires and run it in STS if ya want.

Scott

I just want to say I'm sorry for the way that post sounded,It was meant to be between me and RAy Schumin, who is a very good friend.I have been trying to get Ray and several of our Friends from Northern Va and Maryland to join our club for several years. These competitors run with Triad 5-6 times a year and it was meant more as a dig at them, trying to get them to finally join and participate in the NCAC's.I meant no ill will between our 2 clubs and as soon as Stephen sent me an email I rescinded the offer.Again,I am a Blue Ridge Region Member and was only trying to get friends there that already run with our club to finally join.I'm very sorry if it caused any hard feelings.

Thanks,
Anthony Hodges

Yeah, but it's a perfect spoon to stir the pot with :) We've got some notable members missing from our registration list, and we need to motivate them some how :)

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Anthony's BRR attempt wasn't the only recruitment effort. Jun Yang, Triad VP had emails to VMSC and ODR. Here is his ODR note (posted on Autocross.US.com)
Quote:
Now how can I convice some of you to come down to Greensboro for a great weekend full of racing, drinking (maybe only some of you.. but there is a beer festival right at the event site), and commadarie??

I want to see some of you ODR region guys down in Greensboro for the 2006 NCAC. The event is scheduled for August 19th and 20th, at the Greensboro Coliseum. The coliseum has an amazing, large lot, with some elevation changes.

I'm asking all of you to come out and support this event! Last year was a blast and this year will only get better!

For those who don't know, NCAC is an event held by the three main auto-x clubs in NC, Tarheel Sports Car Club, Central Carolinas Region SCCA, and Triad Sports Car Club. This year, the NCAC is being sponsored by THSCC.

The objective to this is to see which club is the best and who will take home the club cup trophy. Points are given out based on class finishes, as well as FTD, FTP, FTPax, FTSP, FTM, etc.

If anybody is interested in coming, please direct yourself to www.auto-x.com, where you can find a preregisteration link on the homepage.

Oh yeah.. if you don't mind, it'd be awesome if some of you registered as Triad rather than the other clubs... I'll give you a hug!!!!!

Fortunately, it doesn't look like he has any takers.

Here are some notable names (for starters) that would be valuable additions to our effort:
Aaron Buckley
Shawn Whipple
Dan Ecclestone
Clay Rouse
Art McDonald
Dick Rasmussen
Miles Beam
Kurt Bishop
Mark Cooper
Brian Herring (registered, but as a VMSC member??)

Feel free to add others that come to mind.

I have an open seat in a CSP car that is also eligible in CSPL, XP, DP, and EM. The seats are kinda small so bigger drivers may need a shoehorn.

PM or email me and we can talk, Im not looking for ANY compensation.
