Your pregnant???!!!

How did that happen?

I'm sure you could find a link via Google that would explain how all that works. :P

Google images maybe ???

I'll just ask Sally when I get home, she's a doctor, I bet they taught her all that cool stuff in medical school!

It seems to me you can't possibly make everyone happy WRT ladies classes. If you go with individual L classes, those women who are looking for more competion will feel their victory over a small number of others is not as meaningful as they'd like. If you lump them all into a PAXed Ladies Class, then those women looking for less competition are going to feel they "have no chance" [as if the point of entering is to get a trophy... but I digress]. And there simply aren't enough women driving to do both.

The ideal situation would be to have enough female autocrossers that we could support both the L classes and a PAXed Ladies Class, just as we do now with the open classes and X (and NOV) class. Then everyone could choose where to find the level of competition they're most comfortable with. That would be cool.

In the meantime, all we can do is pick whichever option makes the most sense for the current situation, and work toward increasing the number of women participating, through Chicks-Only schools, mentoring programs, and whatever other means we can think of.

There is no man alive that knows what a woman wants. Hell, even after you tell us, we can't get it right :)

Why are you running HSL in the VA State Championship? For competition, you need to run HS ;)

I think Carl hit the nail on the head here. The reason this decision was originally made was based on numbers....and last years number of female participants at NCAC last year support this. It wasn't made to discourage anyone from running. Will we get more women out there this year? I don't know, but I hope so.

This is off topic for the thread but I can't help myself!
Jim,
This house ain't big enough for 2 HS drivers! (I actually had better times in Danville last Sunday than Bernie...tough luck his afternoon runs were in the rain!)

Should we move this thread to the visitor forum (or create a new thread on ladies participation at NCAC), so that it will be open to non-THSCC members for comment?

Richard, if you want to move the relevant (non bitching and secondguessing) posts, that would be cool.

Generally I would say this is a good idea but...

1. It is hard to determine which posts of this thread to move.
2. I am a bit leary of moving posts (or the entire thread) that started in a private (THSCC member only forum) into a public one. I might be the only one who feels that way.

IMHO if this REALLY is supposed to be an open discussion, that it start out all over again in the visitors forum. Or just let the Autocross VPs know how you feel (email, whatever) and then let them work this out with all of the important NCAC people. Like someone said, it might be a done deal anyhow. Also people need to remember that Forum argument threads like this does not equal "club decision" especially as only a subset of the club is participating in discussions like this.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

I demand an Irish-American indexed class. We just do not have enough Irish-Americans at the events. Probably due to the fact we are usually hung-over and hate bright daylight. I know this class would attract more Irish-Americans to events. Since a good Irish woman would kick most men's butts, I don't think there is a need for an IAL class (Irish American Ladies).

Yes, I will go out on a limb and come up with an index system for this new class.

Dude, you don't want to go there, I'm Irish enough!

Actually Scottish-Irish, so I suppose I'd just have to wear a dress - er kilt and demonstrate the need for an Irish-Ladies class.

I sure hope your IA car is fully prepped to IA rules with a Guinness tap....we don't want to hear any excuses.

Then you'll have to split THAT into IAC, IAP, IACL and IAPL, then TIRIAC, TIRIACP, TIRIACL and TIRIACP ad nauseum.

who can drink more, the Catholics or the Protestants
