Absolutely. The grid in Greenville is much tougher than the airport sites we're used to. Scott made the best point that the work assignments are shorter remembering how hot it was last year.

Ummm... I think Scott said "worker change between every run". That was a joke, son! Anyway, there will still be four heats and you will work one. The only way to escape the heat is to volunteer for T&S.

Ooopps...

I misinterpreted that as one run group at a time, and if that were the case, we'd have less confusion about worker changes.

Jim P,

When you guys decide on the run format that you are going to use for Greenville, please let me know so I can schedule people for the bus accordingly.

Thanks,

Todd

ditto for grid/starter workers

Timing and scoring can help this out by using AXWare to create the run groups. If that is does not happen, I will have the run order roughed out by Friday evening. Grid will require 2-3 people. We should have two people any ways for grid. One sending the cars to the start, the other person organizing them in grid and doing the number checking.

Everyone should attend the driver's meeting for any last minute changes. Rule number one, you must run with your class or you will be DSQ'd.

Run 1 Work 3
Run 2 Work 4
Run 3 Work 1
Run 4 Work 2

After the first two runs in the first group, we will determine 4 or 5 runs.

This is not really rocket science, especially for a local event. It is a whole different ballgame than a 250-300 driver NCAC event. I would highly recommend figuring out the AXWare solution to run groups. I still remember the HSCC NCAC event at Belle Chere when the first run group had 2/3rds of the driver in it. What a nightmare!

Do you know what classes will be in which run groups yet?

AXware will sort the run groups out on sunday morning this is due to registration. People that don't show up, create openings that will be filled by folks on the waiting list. so the classes of cars are not set until after registration is closed . There will be a white board posted at the bus which will show the run and work groups. Personally I would prefer to stop between groups and change workers ( this insures everyone works the same amount of time in the heat). We also now have a fairly loud horn that we can sound for worker change signals in addition to the loud speaker system. At the Coventry games this type of system was used and it worked very well. Shortly after registration closes the run/work groups will be posted. This will be the same format for the NCAC.

A site like greenville makes a 5-10 minute break in between heats VERY feasible. It takes 30 seconds to walk to the farthest worker station, unlike Laurinburg where it might be half a mile away.

I can't gaurantee that we will be stopping between heats at the NCAC. If we get close to 200 people, that probably won't be feasible.

If we can't stop between run groups then doing it on the fly is what we'll do. The beauty of dividing the groups with AX ware is that after one run group you can pretty well figure how long the day will be, cause all the groups are fairly even in numbers of cars. Barring any timing problems.

Do we expect 200 entrants?

The current pre-reg list is at 140something. I know you are a regular at Triad events, so you know how many of thier members don't pre-register. 200 might be far-fetched, but I don't think 175 is going to be far off. It took them until 5 on Saturday and 3:30 on Sunday this weekend at the BRRSCCA event to get 130ish drivers through. Either way...it is going to be more drivers than we are use to, so I am thinking not stopping the event is going to be a wiser choice, especially with us trying to finish before the beer festival starts on Saturday (you don't want to lose valuable drinking time, do you?).
