Just curious, as I'm not sure how the fixed run group inversion came about at Sanford on Sunday - does anyone know whether we're planning to run the fixed run group order 'normal' or 'inverted/reversed' for the rest of this season, or is that decided by the event chairs for each individual event?

I'll be taking out my full page ad in North American Pylon's next issue thanking *everyone*. That was my abbreviated list. This one will include John Shealy's hair, too. And all my MANY MANY sponsors.

I mostly just wanted to thank Christine and company but didn't want anyone else to feel left out. Food is a big part of my life. :)

So your thanking me to not be there also!!!!!!!
I decided to support PCA and go to their autocross yesterday in Laurinburg. It was hot there also.
It was a fun event, very low key and not enough participant, only 12. We did 5 runs and some fun runs. I took almost everyone with me for a run.
Many first timer and they all like it. The course was like our usual long one over there starting on P side and finishing on the runway. My best time was 70.06. There was a long straight on the main runway where I was well in 3rd gear. It was a nice course with some technical feature that if you miss your braking point and go wide you where losing a lot of time. The course was easy to follow and with the number of beginner we didn't have many DNF. Maybe some of them will come try the Tarheel event. Nice to hear that you all have a good event in Sanford.

I would like to reccomend the CHUX system to replace PAX. It indexes cars on their Blue Book value.

I would have made it to the novice meeting IF I had not been told by two tarheel reps and a random bystander that the tech inspection was roving, only to notice that the inspection was at a fixed location while waiting for the novice meeting to start. Kind of like being told to sign in for work stations, which I did, and not being told you need to come back and sign in again right before you work(N-O-V-I-C-E). What can I say, I was at station #4 before my run group(A) finished(Bring a bike, it is your freind), Turned out pretty good as they were short one guy anyway.

Edit: Somebody edited their post, so this response makes less sense. I still had a great time. Anybody got a 1.7 VW head? :)

We will be running the inverted order for the next two events.

Well, you still can't spell my name correctly so you're off the ride along list. :P Don't feel so bad though, our Prez has been spelling it wrong since I've been in the club. Of course, I'm not going to ride with him either...

Seriously, I'd be happy to ride along with anybody. Just give me a shout at the next event and I'll jump in. I'm not sure how helpful it will be but I'll do my best to give constructive feedback.

BTW, I thought Les and Walter did a great job on the course despite all the threats of 2 cones separated by 1000' of empty space. Not counting the finish which was out of their hands, I think that was the most fun course I've driven at Sanford since I've been with the club.

It was also the only time I've ever had my fastest run be the first one. I usually discounted the effects of heat in the Azenis but by my last run, I couldn't hold my hand to the tires for more than 1 second. I thought my last run was very close to the maximum I could get out of my car and it turned out to be my slowest run of the day. Considering I totally blew the first turnaround on my first run, I was quite shocked when I saw the time for my last run. It looks like I'll be dragging along a water sprayer for the rest of the season.

It was nice to get back out there and see everybody even in the heat. Missing 2 events in a row and not auto-x'ing in over 2 months probably doesn't seem like much to most people but for me, it seemed like it had been a year.

Special thanks to the other officers in the club for picking up my slack in my absence. Heck, I was stunned I wasn't heckled by Vincent all day for missing ~1/4 of the season. He must be slipping in his old age... :D

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

That's another reason I like the CSP car. Those little wide things don't seem to heat up nearly as bad as anything else I've driven on. I didn't spray at Sanford and didn't need to, which was surprising (and good since I had no bottle anyway). I was spraying them in the Super Challenge in Peru, but only because I was hoping to go deep and wanted to be ahead of the curve if possible (since A6's are so good cold anyway).

I just decided that in addition to a different kind of course, we'd do the run groups differently too. It was also printed that way on the old Sanford course map from last year that I used as a template.

Personally, I like to run 1st and 3rd sometimes. It lets me get my tires changed without rushing. It also seems fair to not have the same guys "sweep" the track everytime in the 1st run group. It also put different guys working the 4th heat which seems to be more work.
