If all goes according to plan for the June event and we able to have some fun runs, I'd like the opportunity to drive a Subby. Would anyone be willing to offer a loaner? All things being fair, you would be more than welcome to take the bimmer for a spin. I'm interested in head room and seat/driver position.

thanks....

You looking for the WRX or the STi?

I would offer mine, but there are some quirks that I would like to get fixed (clutch and possible tranny) before I let someone drive it that hasn't driven one before. :?

I think the STi has more pink stuff on it... That can't be good.

An STI is just a WRX with the hack knob turned up to 11.

The STi's brakes don't suck as bad as the WRX. The extra half liter of displacement (WRC cheater setup) doesn't hurt either.

The STi has a 2.5l engine, 6 speed tranny, driver controllable differential (referred to as the hack dial), large 4-pot Brembo brakes and some suspension goodies that the WRX doesn't have. 300hp and 300ft/lbs with just a small turbo lag. The tranny is supposedly bullet proof. It probably has some other cool stuff too..Brian H may pipe in. The WRX has a 2.0l engine, 5speed tranny, no hack dial, something like 227 hp, and turbo lag. It, atleast, came standard with a radio whereas the initial STi's did not.

And, it's Cherry Blossom goddamnit, not Pink. Really.

one of my instructors recently had an STi and she said they are not meant for off road activity. seems it says do not take off road somewhere. maybe the owners manual. isn't this a rally car?
